Sounds like govt. is really using its brain. Ban wood stoves or make it so expensive that no one will install one, taxes, insurance, permits. But make pot legal, so you can just walk down the city streets and get stoned without even smoking it.
Good point - I wonder how much insurance industry money is spent to increase woodstove restrictions on USA citizens, and set the permitting processes.
The simple detection of pot smoke does not get others stoned or damage health. There's a wide band between "the smell" and health effects of smoke from prolonged exposure of unhealthy levels, same as pollution. It's a shame our society wants another intoxicant but it is a freedom restored…..
By law, I had to move all the concrete ashtray urns 20' from the hospital entrance... they now sit in the parking lot... dangers from second hand smoke... all that goes out the window for Pot...
I think everybody knows that the 20' rule is just to "keep the peace" because at first the smokers would smoke right at the door and cause battles. As time goes on, companies who value their smokers will make it more comfortable for their addiction. Other companies have no motivation to make it pleasant to feed addictions on the clock, hope that the person will quit.
The simple detection of smoke "smell" is not secondhand smoke. That's BS (if I may be permitted to trample on others opinions). Agreed legal pot is a no-win, but its better than illegal pot which was a guaranteed "lose".
Pot supporters will be vigilant for regulation starting to creep back in. Intoxication while driving, flying, teaching, legislating, will be further scrutinized! People will be affected by the loss in freedoms, and ignore the reasons. Pot-infused foods in vending machines will be BANNED and threads will appear on forums:
"Gov't to issue BAN on organic food". Can you imagine what kind of forum member might believe a title like that? I think many.
