Cost of a new dpf filter for an L60? Just curious.

I've read costs for car and light trucks dpfs run from like 2.5k to over 6k$.

Any dealers care to look up and share the cost of a replacement dpf for say a l5460?

Just curious.

Manual says cleaning or replacement at 3000h, and hopefully in the next few years the technology for cleaning them will continue to improve and get cheaper. And hopefully they really do last at least that long...

To be honest I don't know what you meant to fill up a dpf tank unless you are talking some sort of urea injection (my ignorance).

I guess the bottom line question is how much would a dealer charge to replace the dpf filter in the event it couldn't be cleaned.

How long is the emissions warranty on the new tractors? On automobiles the emission warranty is much longer than normal vehicle warranty as this is dictated by the federal government.

The emissions warranty on compression ignition engines over 50 HP is 5 years or 3,000 hours. Engines under 50 HP are warranted for 2 years or 2,000 hours. The emissions warranty covers everything in the fuel system, DPF system, EGR system, turbo, exhaust and intake manifolds, and the ECU system including sensors. The warranty is void if there is customer neglect like running high sulfur fuel, non-CJ-4 oil, and not replacing filters and lubricants per schedule.

Once it's past the warranty,I'd just remove it and figure out how to stop regens ..it's an off road tractor,no ones going to care,so many people are removing them on on highway vehicles,they create more problems than they solve.DPFs cause more engine failures than you can imagine,and poor mpg,if you suspect it's clogged get rid of it before it costs you an engine.

I don't think the tier 4 systems implemented by Kubota require DEF. I'm in the process of buying my new 4060 and the dealer assured me no DEF.

Before deciding not to buy an L6060, I insisted that my dealer give me a price for replacing the DPF filter. After some coaxing they came back with "around $3,500."

Let's see - DPF has mandatory 5 year 3,000 hour warranty, so unless someone has an accident and smashes one its unlikely to see one move on anything but large ag tractors for several years, at least that a customer would have to pay for. Then, too, the DPF should be good for at least 2 cleanings so 10,000 hours to need replacing unless it's damaged by misuse. Maybe I am too optimistic but having been involved in field testing for up to ten thousand hours with no failures, I would guess that unless Kubota really screwed something up I would think the DPF would be a non factor on off highway after trucking got to debug.
