Greetings.
I am considering a new replacement for my Ford 1720 tractor. Its been so good to me I am not sure I can part with it.But if I can get a real good trade value then I might consider it.
Anyways considering the 1720 here is what Id like to get from a kioti model.
I would like to upgrade to a tractor that's more power but also mostly so that I can handle a larger Backhoe. (liberty 8 foot.) I presently have a 30 plus year would woods that's been very good to me. In fact I might not trade that in as a package with the tractor.
I would be opting for the AG tires that I don't think is a problem. Also possibly a cab. although that's negotiable.
I want a GEAR transmission defiantly. No question on this part.
there seems to be so many models Im unsure what would be a good one to meet the needs.
Any suggestions would sure be appreciated. thanks

Well, not sure if you're aware of this, but the new models just released are what's known as "tier 4" tractors. That is, they meet the newest standards for emissions set by the epa. Usually it's a diesel particulate filter, or DPF that does the job. So far (hasn't been long) no negative experiences reported, but it seems to add about 3-4k to the price tag. If I were you I'd be looking at the DK 40,45, and 50 models. Not sure if you can get them with a power shuttle, but someone else knows I'm sure. If I wanted gears, I'd have a power shuttle for sure. That's what led me to look at the DS series, but if you want a cab that's out.

Happy hunting, keep us posted.

The CK's will only take a 7.5' hoe. So, I think you are looking at a DK. I think most can be had with manual trannies. The DK40 is the best value, and if you don't need more HP, that's the way to go. The DK cab is real nice too. I have a CK25 synchro shuttle. I like it.

You'll want a DK40SE or larger to take a set up from what you have.

A Kioti dealer told me just today that Kioti won't have to conform to Tier 4 emissions standards until next year...so this years models are still Tier 3. He full of hot air...?

Something about having enough "credits"

Non-conforming, not-tier 4 tractors are going away. Kioti is proud that their NX series doesn't knock the tractor out when it does a regenerative cycle. The NX series does not disable use during regeneration cycles. However, during a regeneration cycle, the engine must remain running. The operator may bypass the regeneration cycle up to three times in order to shut the engine off, but after being bypassed three time the regeneration cycle will put the tractor into a limp home mode during regeneration.

Kioti, Massey and Kubota are the only guys selling compact utility tractors that conform to tier 4. Expected life of the particulate filter is 3,000 hours. Anybody here not working commercially who bought a tractor new put on 3,000 hours on their tractor?

And if you did, in how many years?

The best thing about their 4 engine is that they are all much quieter!

Don't know about all the others, but LS's XR series are Tier IV compliant as well.

Thanks for the reply My goodness The one thing I hadnt considered. (emmisions).

I suspect that this factor alone is going to cause me to decide to keep my present tractor just on that fact alone. Sad to say. Sort of like how I hold onto my older truck (non emissions).
I find this totally rediculious with these small tractors as they aren't run in most time very much considering . And to add a huge dollars to it only hurts the economy in my mind.
I know I could draw alot of people complaining about fresh air but come on give me a break. 40 maybe 50 gallons at most a year ?I cant be that bad can I?
Anyways back to my thoughts. Im sort of leaning now to an older (10 years) full size backhoe. As they are much less money And Im really looking to trade the tractor so i can get a larger backhoe.
Ill just burn allot more fuel to do what I wish to do. But those older ones dont have the pollution garb on them.
But the Kioti is sure a good looking tractor and I like the rear remote (3 pt) lever..
WOW

You can still get Tier III machines (no emissions control equipment), but they are starting to dry up. If you talk to a Kioti dealer about a DKXXSE model, it will be Tier III, so you wouldn't have to worry about emissions stuff. The NX series does have Tier IV compliant emissions equipment, so find a DK and you're set.

I also had a ford 1720 tlb with the woods 7.5 hoe, I know have a bobcat 335 (kioti DK35) rebadged with a bobcat 8 hoe. The ford was a very reliable simple machine, over 5000 hrs on the working clock and still ran like new. The bobcat has 290 hrs and is a Cadillac in comparission. The hoe has a little more reach and lots more power, it's about as smooth as them come. I would look around to see if you can get a close out deal on a new bobcat, there's a dealer in northern maine with a new bobcat ct 440 with a cab loader and blower for 28000. The DK 40 has great specs I just can see paying for new when there are so many good used ones out there my 335 sst with 290hrs tlb rake and forks for 18k

Hey Mesupra, there is a dealer here in Northern Maine with that deal. The only problem with that deal is the dealers customer service. That is one of the main reasons why the tractor is still sitting there and has been for the past year or so. I personally went to entertain the thought of purchasing a ct440 from them and I loved the tractor and all, but the dealer is a different story. FYI

" there is a dealer here in Northern Maine with that deal" thats what I said.

I understand that. All I'm trying to say is that the dealer service is terrible.

I understand staying away from dealers with bad service, however with the resources avaible on the internet I don't see the need of purchasing something for the service or warranty. Not that I want to give any buisness to a individual that does not value his customers. I think the idea of savings thousands of dollars would help me look the other way. Which Kioti model does the CT440 copy, I know mine is the equivalent of a DK35.
