I'm not sure what to do with my Yanmar. The PTO Speed Fork is broken and a gear is missing teeth. $200 or so in parts. That job may be too much for my skills and tools to handle. Probably cost $1500 to have someone fix it. The FEL still works great, it runs well and has good tires, but the three point hyd pump needs work. Sell, it? Get it fixed? Try to fix it myself? Or part it out? Any wise thoughts would surely help.

Since I wanted an excuse to upgrade, I bought an LS3080H yesterday.

You can check hoye's site and see if there's a diagram for you to use if, you decide to tackle the repair. If not,I wouldn't worry about it. You have already up graded to a bigger tractor. I hear that LS builds a fine tractor with standard xtras that are an option on other tractors. Maybe you can part out the 1500 on craigs list if, you don't want to tackle the repairs

You stated the loader works fine but 3 point pump needs work. Does your loader have it's own pump?

No wise thoughts but if repairs are going to cost $1500 that is going to make the price of the tractor pretty low in an unrepaired state.

Sell the loader by itself-Sell the tractor by for parts.

Or third option, it's not costing anything sitting there. So, cover it and keep it. Might make for good trade material. Unless you need the cash, for like Winston said. Not much funds for an unrepaired compact tractor.

I might have a guy who'll give me 2k for it and an old 4'bush hog. If i cant get that for it, it would be a good learning tool if I fix it myself. Now that I dont need it to work tomorrow, I can take my time. Even with everything working its probably only worth $3500 or so. Famous last words: I can fix that!:)

And trying to part it out would be a time consuming pain in the heiny.

Repeat. Does your loader have it's own pump or use the main hydraulic pump on the tractor?

One pump under the seat, I believe. With no strain from the 3 point, the loaded works well. It needs to be rebuilt.

Your main hydraulic pump is reference #1 here. It is on the right side of the engine up toward the front. Only a 3 point control valve under the seat. If your loader had a separate pump it would either be driven off the pto or front of the crankshaft. Sounds like it operates from the tractor pump. Yanmar Tractor Parts: HYDRAULIC_SYSTEM

Thanks. I'll be in Alabama this weekend and look at the books and tractor.

If you can get $2K for it.....jump on it....especially since you have another tractor. Otherwise......like others have said....part it out. You could also list it under yard art.....amazing what some people pay for stuff like that!!!

As I understand it - it looks nice and the loader works properly. But the PTO needs gears etc replaced and the 3-point strains to lift so that needs repair. Correct?

That should easily bring $2,000 on Craigslist. And that's how I would dispose of it if I didn't want to do the repairs. If your figures are accurate, spending to repair it might just get back 1:1 for the dollars spent on repair so repairing it yourself would be pointless.

If my guy doesn't buy it, I'll put it on Craig's list for sale or barter. Might get some interesting trade offers. If I
Knew I could fix it mysel for $200, then I would try it. But sometimes you have to know what you don't know
