Your welcome Six dogs, wish I was home to take measurements, I still have about ten days or so being out here at work. That is with a twelve inch auger on in that pic, I also have a nine, but never used it. LUTT

I'm using a 12"auger as well and I'll tie a rope on it to get on the trailer. I'll put the PHD on in the next couple of days to make sure it works but I think I'm all set.

I don't know if a 790 has the three holes for the third arm, my 4200 does, I gain a little in the bottom hole, like you I've tried everything I could to gain some clearance. Really don't take much, just got to watch backing up! LUTT

That was one of my concerns since it has only one adjustment hole. The PHD is not like a normal piece of equipment and is especially hard to hook up and then adjust so I want to get it as right as I can before I get started. I found that removing the auger before hooking up makes the whole experience much easier.

I will catch some slack over this, but I store mine in the ground out of the way, it's a lot easier to hook up that way, your not fighting that crazy third arm on the digger so much! I may need to break mine down from now on though to store, that would be better! LUTT

With my FEL mounted hydraulic PHD I can tilt and clear a fence and drill on the opposite side.

Tom I have been thinking about converting mine to a loader style with a hydraulic pump! Every time I watch those guys on a bobcat with one, I'm like, that would be handy. I'm fixing to take on a good sizes fencing project on my place for cattle. I really think it would be better ! LUTT

Impressive and something I have thought of doing. Any pics of this?

No, but I do need to do it again in a few weeks so I will try to take a picture then. The FEL mount has a cradle for the hydraulic head to keep it from flopping around on transport. I rotate (curl) it so the auger is pointed straight out, approach the fence, go over the top and rotate (uncurl) the FEL. Drill the hole, turn around and use my backhoe to drop the RR tie or concrete post over the top and into the hole. Backfill, tamp, fasten and go.
