I had to water and after an hour of 20-30mph wind, the ground was dry:mur: Charlie, getting an inch is almost a miracle!

I guess we are fortunate to have not recieved what Arkansas got, man that is bad news for those poor folks.

I haven't commented on my raindrops so far, but Saturday morning I counted about 12 drops on my roof before it just went away.:( Of course, I was hoping for a line of showers Saturday afternoon, but that didn't develop. Now, it's waiting for a May or June storm to bring us enough rain to even maybe fill our lake. Depressing! . . . Just very depressing. May and June storms can be really rough for bad winds and hail, so hoping for a mild storm with heavy rain is a pipe dream. Oh well, I guess that's just what I get for living in Texas. I'm gonna be looking for a site to donate to the poor unfortunate folks in Arkansas who lost everything.

Red Cross Disaster relief seemed to fit the bill, so that is where I donated. Arkansas is a close neighbor and we Texans need to support them as they face the rebuilding task.

Jim,
Twelve drops is what we got on the way home from Austin yesterday morning. Also got 12 drops on the way to the Bluebonnet Airshow in Burnet, Saturday afternoon.

Third driest start for a new year ever measured here, with May being our wettest month we can only hope for next month to bail us out. HS

Scott, it looked pretty green when I went to Houston last week around Navasota, don't know if they got more rain than further south,

I have had to water more than usual, Garden every few days and fruit trees once a week.

Dennis--We are very thankful for the rain we got and even more thankful that we dodge the bad weather they got in Arkansas. We did get a small amount of hail.......enough to take out 1 tomato plant, so we were Blessed.

I also seeded the Front & Side yards around the house, so the moisture was need there too. The temps are getting high enough for some hopeful grass growing.

FG- it might be time to start limbering up for a little "Rain Dancing".........let's don't wait too long.

Dennis,
The Navasota and Brenham area has had more rain then we have here. Well designed ponds are full and yes, it seems greener in that area.

I have to send a shout to FG! Thanks for turning me on.......To Spinosad:D I have been picking around 30-40 cuc beetles daily out of my snap beans and potatoes, applied Spinosad and the 1st day found only 8, today, found only 2!!! WOOOT I am glad since if it hadn't worked so far, I'd be pulling out the hard stuff. Great stuff so far. Almost no more small grass hoppers, leaf miners are gone and see allot of beneficials still going strong:thumbsup:

Have to give Jimbo some love too:laughing: Loven me some soaker hose and weed barrier!

Record low set in 1903 broke this morning, it's 36 in Waco now, old record was 38. We are only a few days from becoming the driest start to a year ever recorded, which there are records going back almost two hundred years. HS

Like the song says:

There are day people and night people.

It's the night peoples job to get the day peoples money.

Dennis-- My guess is that it's far from the ideal working environment. Glad you're done there.
