Which is best? Truck w/Plow, FEL Plow, or Rear blade? Help the Noob...

So I rove this home yesterday. Craigslist special.

$2500 1988 4x4, 4cyclinder, 5sp, 2 gas tanks, overload springs, 84,000 original miles. Meyer plow.

First owner was USGS in CO where it was used exclusively to plow parking lots. for the last 18 years it's been plowing a gravel drive on Mt Weather that makes mine look like easy and simple. The 2nd owner is a mechanic and there are so many things serviced on this truck I cannot list them all.

Drove it over 90 minutes to get it home on all kinds of roads and freeways. It drove great.

I'm not sure if the best thing about TBN is the great friends I've made, or the amazing advice and guidance this Noob gets.

No... I've not seen passenger car/truck chains for sale ANYWHERE in VA... I've seen tractor chains for sale though...

Try eBay or Amazon for $50 or so, new.

Now that you have the plow, maybe you won't see snow again for several seasons?

I got a 88 Ranger given to me a couple of years ago after it failed its smog test, a V6 2WD. No one
wanted any of the parts, at any price. I used the bottom of the bed for my Samurai dump truck,
and the rear frame & axle for my water tank trailer.

On your Ranger, I would check the frame mounts underneath for rust and stress damage.
