Did Chrysler beat GM to the punch?

I just saw an article (admittedly I didn't actually read it) that claimed electric cars lose 55% of their range in extreme cold. Not sure what they considered "extreme" cold... wish I could find that article again. It may be exaggerated, but I'm sure it's at least partly true. I could see that being an issue.

It was on Drudge a couple of days ago which will make some disbelieve it even though it's a LAtimes story.

Maybe for you. Not for everyone.
Well, I believe in the free market, if there is a market drive what you want. But don't look to me to help you pay for it in subsidies, or look to tax me because I don't, agreed. HS

After emailing a link of "the memo" to our dealer's service manager, he went to bat with GM and lined us up with a loaner Malibu.
After 67 days and 7000 miles on a rental car paid for by GM ($36/day), the parts finally arrived and we have our HHR back. The brakes now pulse due to rusted rotors, the parking brake doesn't seem to work and the rear wheels were rusted to the drums when I went to swap out the snow tires (sledge hammer required).
I just read that this year to date, GM has recalled more vehicles than they have produced in the past 5 years.

This is just the start for the recalls. It will bankrupt them once again.

As long as we the people don't have to bail them out, really who cares? Not me, that is for sure.
That's what happens when the government and unions make cars. HS

All the car manufacturers have their problems. Local Ford dealer here has lemon lawed 4 cars so far in 2014. 3 due to parts NOT being available.

They have one now (C-Max pos) that needs a restraint module (airbag computer) Ford parts has told them it is on backorder for 2 years.

That's right folks if that's not a broken system what is????

Some manufactures have less issues than others is the lessen here, some issues are worth overlooking, others are not, I like suburbans, will I dump GM because they can't make a car? HS
