How big is the other area to build on? You know the old saying, you can never make it too big!!!! LOL

Eddie

Could probably go 24 x 30 in that spot, if I remove a couple of trees. Would be working around water lines from well, and public water, but would just have to be careful with that. FEL will have not problem finding those pipes for me...LOL. Also, the entire lot has a slope so the floor of the carport would not be level, but I can deal with that.

How far to the right past the Toyota can you build?

If I take out some trees and move some dirt there would be lots of room over there. One passing thought I had was to build something over there, and have the parking area perpendicular to the way the Toyota sits now. Again, the un level lot would make for an interesting entry and back out. To the right of the Toyota is quite a slope downhill toward the water.

There are lots of ways to level that area....especially since it's your money we are all spending!!!

Do you have shoreland zoning rules to worry about?

We have state rules that limit the percentage of a lot area that can be built on/altered, limit vegetation clearing, etc.

Maybe you could build by the Toyota and have the doors face the Toyota side so you could level the land and have a level entry that way??

Ok folks, more than a year later and I am back on this project, this time with some determination to make it happen. I think I want to locate it near the house entrance, am leaning toward the one short side with major structure following the existing roof line (just higher), and I see extending the carport roof over the existing room to allow out of weather entrance at both doors.

Any new thoughts that will help me with this?
