Nope, can't do that.

I can. I had to argue strenuously that the dealers preparation damage to my machine should be covered under warranty. He said warranty covers breaking, the dealer damage was the dealer's fault and so not covered under warranty. They have come around to my way of thinking (still don't have my machine back) but it was an uphill battle.

I'll use listed filters and fluid till it's out of warranty.

I'm sure that your right about the Rotella heavy duty tractor fluid, but if you were to get a hydraulic related failure, and wanted kioti to warranty it, can't you just hear someone saying "tough luck, you didn't use a fluid on our recommended list".

You might do better asking technical department questions like this. Melissa helped me but she and the VP didn't seem too tractor savvy. Pictures helped.

I was talking about denying warranty due to the use of other fluids not about you..

What you say makes lots of sense, but never-the-less, I'd like to see the hydraulic fluid Ok'd in writing by kioti.
I'm having a hard time finding any of their recommended hydraulic fluids anywhere. Rotella, and traveller is available locally though.

Kioti tractor, a brand name in American and other markets, is manufactured by Daedong in S. Korea.
They sell tractors all over the world, and some of their literature is outdated regarding specs used to recommend fluids, especially when it comes to hydro fluids. Note though that recommended does not mean required. Therefore equivalent or better quality, like synthetics or newer blends or wider range viscosity are acceptable, even though not on their 'list'. I defy any manufacturer to deny a fluid related warranty claim based on the use of any current brand of oil or hydro fluid.

And as far as my contradicting myself about my boat engine oil, I'm actually confirming that in the case of an AVAILABLE brand of oil, in this case, Yamaha, the oil actually exists; and I choose to use it, even though it may be made by Shell or Mobil or otherwise, during warranty I want to leave no stone unturned to seek the best outcome. If that means using their branded oil then I'm onboard. If one can find Kioti branded hydro oil then I'd say go for it, in the meantime, Kioti needs to update their 'list' to be realistic with current products, agreed?!:)

Yep, your 100% correct. Refer to post #5 same applies to oil. As long as it meets spec and the dealer is happy my guess is you will be too. CJ

I realize that Murph. I was just astounded that he was trying to split hairs to avoid having to spend any $$$. It makes me question their decision making process. Almost 3 weeks without use of my tractor now. Hoping to get it back next Tuesday.

UPDATE. Won't have it for at least another week. JFYI

Melissa is from customer service, she doesn't seem very knowledgeable. I asked to speak to someone from tech. support, they said no, I'm not allowed to. I called Melissa twice, then emailed her, she never returned my email.
