I ended up getting an ss Eco and I've put prob 500 hrs or so on it . It's very quick on trees up to 4" diameter and other smaller vegetation . Have done a few 12" trees and it's not too bad , a bit hard to get a fine mulch but it can be done . Unfortunately it's not all roses , I've been having dramas keeping the disc tight on the tapered drive shaft , it got to the point I had to send it to someone to have a good look at it and it's been there for two weeks so far , just when I'm getting lots of work. I'm just hoping AFE start helping out before it drags out too long !

it's great on bryers and other woody weeds , good for thick grass although you obviously won't get a finish like a slasher. As for trees you can quickly remove anything up to 6 inch but can do much bigger given time . Because you don't feed bigger trees through like the small ones , I find harder woods break up better than softer . Either way you won't end up with a fine mulch ( unless you go over the area multiple times).
You need to have a reasonable operator on it because there's a lot of feel involved, it's all about keeping disc speed up , you can get pretty nasty block ups if your not careful .

Your not the only one having problems with the eco I've talked to several people having problems. After running 1 and hearing the horror stories I won't be getting one, good luck getting it fixed maybe your guy can figure it out and get u back in the woods

Sorry, oldbarn has a bad experience. Yes, Jon is a fast talker but the service department has been great along with ph support. The only issue so far is that I was not able to keep the bottom shark teeth tite. After calling the service dept. They recommend me switching to bullet teeth or removing this teeth holder completely, since I'm in a rocky terrain (ozark mtn's with flint rock and limestone prevalent) Switching to the bullet teeth did the trick. I have had my ECO for over a month now since my hydro ax 730 burnt to the ground. WOW! This attachment is great! I was concerned from going to a 10ft ax mower to this machine but it almost as fast. And now I can get back to hauling my own equipment. I was leery of the teeth reliablity but the quadco beaver teeth are holding up. I have not broke one tooth yet and have ran into a few hidden boulders. The thumb nail bottom teeth have chipped but they are easily replaced. You do have to touch up the beaver teeth at the end of the day with a grinder. This machine will suck up a 6 inch tree soft or hard in a blink of eye and spit it out in mostly small chips. Eastern cedar will slow down the disc if not careful, Other than missing the soft ride of a large rubber tired machine I'm glad I added this to my lineup instead of getting another hydro ax. I still use my FAE drum mulcher in really rocky areas but the quality of work just not the same.

From the videos, the ECO chips/shreds look a lot longer and rougher than the finished product of an FAE. Are you running your FAE with the door closed to get your finished product or does the ECO produce that good of a chip?
