A little cold water did the trick.

I took my end loader off a couple of weeks ago in the morning and by afternoon the sun had heated up the hydraulics enough that I could not connect the hoses back up. I waited a couple of hours for the sun to start to go down and still couldn't hook them up. I took a hose and ran cold water over the cylinders and lines on the end loader and after just a couple of minutes everything hooked up like normal.

I tried getting rid of the pressure but couldn't. I think the hose on the end loader side is female and couldn't find a way to relieve the pressure with a screw driver. There is probably a way I just didn't know how.

Some years ago I tried all the release the pressure tricks pushing the end and finally loosened the hose connection with an opened end wrench.

You're correct, it's the female end, but I would not go after that with anything metal. I carry a 4" piece of 1/2" hardwood dowel in the toolbox. I put the dowel in the female end and hit the dowel with the pliers I also carry. That pops the ball loose and relieves the pressure. Cover the fitting with a rag if you have one or you're going to get a handful of hydraulic fluid.

Me too - cool and with a flat, level surface sure makes putting it back on a lot easier.
I use the garden hose trick if the garage is blocked and I can't use it - just have to make sure the FEL's parked within hose reachin' distance!
