I disagree, If you can make out what the person is typing that's all that matters. This is a forum not a language class. Some here are old farmers with not a lot of typing skills.
Of course, not a language class, but as to the absolute, I disagree. Making out what a person is typing has a level of ambiguity proportional to the difficulty in making out what they are typing. Clarification becomes more often needed to prevent guessing what all the connections are that are pertinent to an answer. I have found that its a bit hard to get this clarification.

I agree with mk700! If you know what's meant that enough! No BS about punctuation and capitalization, although I try to ise proper language some don't have that ability! And it really don't attest as long as they relay there thoughts, as almost everyone can! If you don't want to take the time to try to decipher that Totaly up to you! I have a step daughter with a learning disability and she struggles and I know first hand sometimes it's hard to communicate , but some of you out there are jerks about it! And you know who you are!

Ha ha! It would take me 15 minutes to type what you just typed. I have trouble stopping my thumb from hitting the space bar. I'm a programmer by trade, so I use the computer all the time!

I highly doubt people are trying to spell words wrong, use wrong words, and use poor punctuation. Some are not computer savvy and some don't know better. If you don't like how someone types then don't read or respond to them.

This (TBN) is the greatest collection of creative, helpful, experienced people I have ever found. I would appreciate it if all TBNers used proper english and punctuation, but I will settle for whatever they can offer because I want their opinions. If the notes get really bad, we each have the option of skipping reading them (and I do skip any that have no caps and no punctuation). Thanks.
I totally agree.

It's a message board...if your message gets across...good enough...

IMO...the more experience a user has with message boards the more they learn what is easy to read and what isn't...

Personally I have always (since 1994) treated web based (as opposed to USENET/e-mail etc.) message boards as more of a conversation than formal printed missives...most people do not usually converse using complete sentences etc...

While on the topic of posting peeves...I find incomplete titles the most offensive...every title should at least offer a hint of the subject of the post...

As for grammar and punctuation...it's no big deal...but IMO it's a dead give a way to a lack of education to use incorrect word forms...i.e., there, they're, their...three completely different words with three completely different meanings...but often mistakenly interchanged...
