It also irks me a little when people get the homophones wrong... to, two, too; there, their, they're; etc... but that I can live with because I know what they mean.

I thought this was a grammer thread, what does sexual orientation have to do with it????

Exactly. What I like most about this forum is that it is informal. People from all walks of life share their knowledge and ideas about tractors and other equipment. And they convey that knowledge in their own words and writing style. Fine with me.

It's a tractor forum, not the Wall Street Journal.

that says it all so.

I ain't reading all this drivel.

I'm a drop out who has done pretty **** well for himself. If you don't like my grammar, move the **** on and bother someone else. Don't read my posts, put me on ignore and live in your perfect world.

The rest of us will do fine without you.

And, in summary:

I'm a-gonna do what I'm a-gonna do when I'm a-gonna do it 'til I'm a-gonna! Get it? Got it? Good! Gad!

OP, PACountryGuy, come on back and tell us your thoughts regarding responses so far...you have a bunch to choose from!:drink::shocked:

:thumbsup:

What I think is that these responses show people truly want to understand what others are writing. Getting your idea across clearly in writing is not always easy. Getting it across with a sloppy, I-don't-care-what-you-think-jughead attitude is even harder, and disrespectful.

Not everybody has command of all talents, obviously. And nobody is here to make fun of anybody, or to denigrate anybody.

I think these responses show that we honestly want to clearly understand what others are saying.

Nobody is asking for novelist perfection and grammar, just a small measure of care to let us understand you.

Anything posted on the internet will probably out live all of us. So I always read my story before posting with the question in mind;

Would my mother be proud of me?

It helps me make better decisions in my everyday life also.....try it.

I tend to agree with rmk700 and a few others. I read and signed off on every piece of paperwork from ten plus individuals, when I got promoted my gift was a box of red ink pens and Post-It notes, so in its place I value proper writing, grammar, punctuation etc. I do not see it as that big of a deal on forums, I'm more interested in content.
