Can I use this to drag logs?

Like shown in post #2...... The 3pt is good to lift the end of the log... Makes skidding MUCH easier...

However.... I always do my pulling with the fixed draw bar... To pull with the 3pt up, could be a tipping danger...

Keep safe....

Right. The pictured setup can back flip the tractor if the log gets hung up. That is a dangerous setup.

Look at the picture and image what would happen if the log was immovable and the tractor in forward gear. The rear wheels would keep driving and the connection to the log being up high would "leverage" the tractor such that the front end would raise to where the tractor flips back. Anything in the bucket is going to land on the operator. Pulling from down low on the drawbar where the big clevis is does not give the load leverage to flip the tractor backwards.

Yes, the exact same setup with a chain added from the log butt to the clevis would be perfect. Lots of extra weight on the rears but pulling from the drawbar. Tune the weight transfer and tip limiting point by changing the initial chain slack.

The drawbar can also function as a stop to keep the log from hitting the PTO if you stop suddenly or back up a little too far.

 They never show you how it was hitched.

No, but if it was hitched low at the fixed drawbar height (below rear axle) it can't flip.

I use log tongs and a 3pt hitch drawbar. I back up to a log, drop the hitch. Pick it up and it's hooked up

You can flip over backwards hitching like this Without ROPs the operator likely will not survive.

Ill agree its very unlikely. There are a still lot of things that come into play under changing conditions of a real pull. Get some of them just wrong and a flip can still happen. ... That video showed a pretty darn controled pull, I thot. Almost had to be a hi hitch point or a very short fixed drawbar
