going to be traveling in northern Arkansas, southern Missouri. Any worthwhile attractions besides branson? A train ride is on the list of things to do.

If you are a fisherman, you won't want to miss Bass Pro Shops HQ in Springfield, and we have a smaller one here in Branson. Train ride here in Branson too! I don't know if you would like the Marvel Cave tour at Silver Dollar City?

College of the Ozarks and the Keeter Center there in Hollister. Great kids, great restaurant, free tractor museum, low admission outstanding other museum, green houses, etc. don't miss it.
Bass Pro in Springfield has NRA National Sporting Arms Museum and Archery hall of fame both free.

First pic is the overlook by the chapel at C of O.

Go to Lambert's in Ozark and see if you can catch a roll then head to bass pro and look at all the new updates (to bad the museum isn't open yet). Branson has a lot of attractions cheap and expensive.

I have been to most of the things the fellas have mentioned since I grew up In Harrison and still have family in the area and it is all great advice. Great trout fishing in Lake Taney Como below the dam, also a trout hatchery there you can tour (have some monster breeders to see).

If you want to "romance" the wife, take the evening dinner cruise on Table rock, it's a paddle wheel boat and they put on a show for ya. Dont miss Silver Dollar City, outside Branson. Several wildlife/zoo attractions. Last time we went, we saw baby tiger and lions and they let us play with a grey wolf, which was neat, since at the time we had an high% arctic at home.

Silver Dollar City | Theme Park & Attractions | Branson, Missouri
Showboat Branson Belle - Branson Dinner Shows and Cruises On Table Rock Lake
Branson's Promised Land ZOO Exclusive Encounters (great experience)

Branson's Wild World | Welcome To Branson's Wild World - Aquarium, Zoo, Animal Adventure, Mini Golf, Arcade Games, Shows Well rated on Tripadvisor. been awhile since I have been there.

If you golf, you got to play here, worth every penny
Branson, Missouri Golf Course - Payne Stewart Golf Club

Mountain View Arkansas, lots of Bluegrass music, crafts and scenery. Crater of Diamonds state park in Arkansas, you can buy buckets of dirt, pan for diamonds and keep what you find. Silver Dollar City west of Branson, the kids will love it. It is a large amusement park now, but I liked it better when it was full of artist and craftsmen and live music was all over the park. Bass Pro definitely, but the one in Springfield is much larger. There is a lot to do and see in that area you will not be able to take it all in.

Don't know if you will get as far South as Eureka Springs, but that is a pretty area, and there is always something going on there. We make car shows there occasionally, and of course the ladies love it because of the shopping and great places to eat.

Thanks for the replies. We are considering Eureka Springs.
The tractor Museum in Hollister looks awesome also.
I could probably hit Mountain View on the way north.

I'd also recommend the trout hatchery below Table Rock Dam. Might check and see if doing tours of the dam again, which was pretty interesting.

I just got back from the Ozarks today. Blanchard Springs Caverns is the best cave in America. Don't miss it. The recent rains made the Buffalo River great for canoeing and many places rent them. The best views are seen by canoe. The overlooks on Arkansas Hwy 7 south of Harrison are very interesting.

There are a couple of curves on Hwy 7 there south of Harrison where you can see your own tail-lights!:D

There are several caves in the Springfield / Branson area. They are really neat to see.

I'll second Blanchard Springs Caverns. In Branson find College of the Ozarks. They have a museum with an original Clampett's truck from Beverly Hillbillies.

My son will be attending college in Searcy, AR this fall, so will be down that way again in August. When I started this thread, I was in Searcy signing him up for classes. We ended up going south to West Monroe LA to see Duck Commander, then headed east to Vicksburg battlefield, up to Fort Payne AL to visit the Bama Boys, then to Ruby Falls in Chattanooga TN, then over to Cherokee and the Smoky Mountains and visited Clingmans Dome and Cades Cove before heading home.

We went to Branson last summer, so I was looking for things besides Branson, but I would like to go back there also. Would love to see the Clampetts car, even my kids love watching the Beverly Hillbillies. Last summer we saw "shepherd of the Hills" in Branson. That was really good. Looks like this year might be it's final run. We also rode the Branson Train last year. I do want to see Eureka Springs, will probably do that on one of my trips. With my son going to college there, I will probably have a few trips there. Some friends of ours just moved to Searcy, so he will have people there he knows, plus a couple of his friends go to school there.

Thanks for all the great suggestions.
