Buying Advice Cabela's selling Compact Tractors

I would say SOME people. If that was the case everything would come from walmart.

Personally I want someone that knows what they are selling, someone that can answer questions. That level of service will always exist for people that want to pay for it as they see a value in it. Best product is a very gray term. Quite a few products you don't ever need help with, and if you do there is no chance in talking to the people at walmart about that HP computer you just bought.....get ready to be on hold for hours with India and talk to someone you can't understand.....then hop on the net to gripe about the crap HP computer you just bought.

There are still people that will pay a little more for that level of service.

It is hard to find someone that know their product. My tractor dealers is very knowledgeable about tractors. I ran into a Ford salesman that really new his stuff on trucks but he did not have one equipped like I want it. Other than those 2 people in the last few years I have not been impressed by anyone knowing their product.

Back to tractors. IIRC these are TYM....in looking at Craig's list I came across this:
Pretty good deal loaded with tons of goodies. The TYM tractors must be near the bottom of the line....but it sure looks (from the photo) like a real nice machine.

I must admit AC would be nice....but 75hp would be a little over kill for mowing.

75hp isn't over kill for mowing. My dream rig is 95-115 hp with 15' or bigger batwing.

What does TYM scrimp on that makes them near the bottom of the line? Which models did you look at? I was thinking about looking at the T293 (not a Cabela's model), but I'd like to learn more about them.

I don't know what, if anything, is inferior in particular. But, it seems that the 293 gets a lot of attention with problems being reported here on this forum.

That's not good to hear! I really wish LS had something available in between the J2023 and the G3033 with dual pedals and the SSQA.

I had looked at the JD 2520 and I liked everything about it - except for the price. It was $2K more than the 33 HP LS.

If you like it get it. Don't get something that you will be unhappy with because it is cheaper. The Deere 2720 is a larger tractor that would be in between the J2023H and the G3033 in size.

Hi,

I live near the Sidney Cabela's and I see that they are starting to sell tractors. They are branded Cabela's so I am curious how they stack up. Any thoughts on them?

Tractors : Cabela's

I have à tym 503, and really like it. It has exceeded expectations. I wrote a comprehensive review under my transformatic handle. The Cabela tractor uses a Woods loader. I really like the tym loader. Very well designed.. The quick attach bucket is essential. Be sure to not put pressure on the fuel tank filler neck when adding fuel. The new fuel cans have a sàftey lock out on the spout that may stress the filler neck and cause leaking. These tractors are a good choice.
