Thanks DD! It's in the hands of Case customer service and the product rep at this point. We'll see what happens.

Thanks PapaPerk.

Murph, I'm dealing with CASE today...the dealer is sending a truck with a winch to load it. I have a couple of driveways to do this week with the tractor and then a day of pond work which (at this point) will have to be done with a rental machine. Since purchasing this CTL, I've put more hours on rentals than I have on my own machine.

That is too bad. Would never have thought Case would build a machine like that. Really hope they treat you right on this.

I picked up this job off a driveway referral down the road a ways. Twenty-eight oak stumps removed in 4 hours with a KX71-3. Tree size ranged from 8"-20" or so. FIL Dan brought out his tractor to haul stumps backfill holes and dress things up. The owner had us drop the stumps off a bank into the pond for the fish habitat. I'll be bringing dirt for a building pad here as well. Funny thing is that a neighbor across the street has a Takeuchi excavator and CTL. He was standing in his driveway looking at us like...I live right here! I know how he feels, since it's happened to me too.

John, that place sure cleaned up nice. Bet it was pretty ragged before you started with 28 stumps on it.

Yes it was. The owner told me that another contractor had told him to just bury the stumps under the pad fill. I think that that may have been the neighbor. The last thing you want under a building pad are a bunch of rotting stumps!

Here's the job that I got the stump job referral from. This one was a referral from around the corner too. The owner hadn't used this driveway for over ten years, but their cars were damaged during our last hailstorm and he wanted access to the carport again. The driveway was tailgated in over twenty years ago and had over a foot of leaves on it. The owner was never happy with the drive since it was all lumpy over ungraded ground. He wanted me to place the new material over the leaves...but I told him that I can't do it that way. After I removed the leaves I found ungraded base with a topping of 3/4" granite. I regraded and placed about 70 tons of concrete washout base and then topped it with a tandem load of 3/4" limestone. I also spread a pup trailer of limestone over the driveway at his rental around the corner.

This jobsite was really muggy with lots of bugs. The owner wanted to leave all of the landscape timbers where they were at, which was a pain. After spending most of the day trying real hard not to hit the fence at the entrance to the driveway the guy had me knock it down!
