2014 Sierra 1500 Axlle Ratios 3.42 vs 4.73

The 2013 5.3 liter is a dog compared to the ecoboost and yet they get the same MPG? That is a no brainer for most. Now the 2014 5.3 liter is a judgment call because it produces respectable power, yet still less than the ecoboost, and it gets better MPG than the ecoboost.

Why does any discussion on different makes always come down to this eventually? The discussion was going well then; my truck has more power than your truck bs.

95% of truck owners have no REAL need for these exaggerated towing capacities.

I don't have a problem with the hot wax dip they do on the frames. Up here is salt country, it seems to hold up at least as good as the competition.

Thanks for the feedback! Sorry, I thought I had responded to your post last night, but apparently I passed out before hitting the post button. Your experience is reassuring given that I live in an area that isn't on the coast and isn't necessarily subject to yearly road salting. The undercoating issue is something I just never have had exposure to. After looking on line it appears that this one of those things that can have the tendency to degenerate into on an unresolvable debate.

I am sorry that I have come across this way for you. I simply answered ruffdog's question to be countered with responses that needed fact checked. Please notice that I maintain my professional responses even though it was implied that I have an ego and that I am in high school. I am a grown man with college age children and use my truck for work and towing, not racing stoplight to stoplight. Hopefully my post are based on factual experiences but admit sometimes others get under my skin when posting nonsense.

BTW, I believe the new GM trucks are rated to tow more than my ecoboost with the 5.3 liter.

Traded the Ford on a '13 Sierra this time. Dealer attitude, noise and ride sold me on the GMC. Neighbors F150 EB and my v8 are getting the same average MPG so why pay extra for the turbo CAC problems when the V8 is great?

At slow speed pulling farm equipment, my V8 pulls better. It would be funny seeing you spool up them EB turbos pulling a hay wagon, then having to pick up the bales at the side of the road.

The Ecoboost is still only a 3.5L v6 until you stick your foot into it. I don't race stop light to stop light to worry about boosting my ego. I want v8 power even when I am driving in a relaxed manner.

I know. Sometimes it sounds so high school.....
