Patio firepit and grill enclosure built with pavers

Looks really nice. I have a Saber Grill about the same style and dimensions. Did you leave any air circulation space between the pavers and the sides of your Grill? I ask only because the two sides and the back of the lower cabinet on my grill have air vents, so I assume there should be some circulation space provided.

Here is a picture of the rear of the enclosure. My grill has a vent back there. You can see how I left that area open for circulation. I think it is a good idea to leave some breathing space where there are vents.

How many pavers do you estimate you used to do the grill surround?

Just a wild guess, 200 or so. It's not cheap. Home Depot carries the stone. They also have literature that you can use in designing your paver projects. Also, you can go to Pavestone | Pavers, Retaining Walls, Patio Stones & Edging for information and ideas. There are plans for many different projects.

A word of caution regarding the grill plan. My grill looks exactly like the one that was used for the project in the literature and online. It tells you exactly how many of each size stone to buy, which I did. I later discovered that my grill lower body was actually larger than the one in the plans. I needed more stones than I originally bought. Not a big deal, but it did require some thinking and design changes on my part to finish it. It wasn't that big a deal, just a "Murphy's Law" thing that I usually encounter with my projects. All in all it was a fun and not too strenuous weekend project.
