I spent a couple of hours today getting stumps out and found this 4" u-bolt on the ground where I was working. I can't imagine what else it could have come off of besides the tractor or backhoe, but I also have no clue where a u-bolt would be used. Any ideas?

It looks like the U Bolt that is used to corral the hyd hoses near the back hoe hinge pin. MY DK35 hs two of them, guides the hoses from the tractor to the back hoe hyd cylinders.

Thanks to both of you. With the help of the picture I was quickly able to find where it goes. The hoses covered the holes, so I doubt I would ever have figured it out without the picture - 1000 thanks for taking the time to post it.

Makes me wonder just how many parts will vibrate loose. Some things like the throttle they over torque so I can't smoothly change the rpn. And then there are the bolts and screws that I find on the ground... This is number 4.

On my DK 35, I check bolts, clips and pins often, they seem to shake loose/off constantly. Of course, I use mine in the bush and on rough terrain so to be expected. My FEL bolts are the worst for shaking loose. 3PH clips and pins are also frequently AWOL after a days bush hogging.

Make sure you check the bolts which hold the backhoe to the subframe. Mine are constantly shaking loose!

Bolts? My backhoe is held on by two taper pins through sub-frame. I do check the sub-frame to tractor bolts regulary.

Taper pins hold the subframe to the tractor, I'm talking about the backhoe to subframe.
