6 ft.Rotary cutter verses 5ft. ???

I have a 5ft taylorway standard duty rotary cutter I now use behind my 2012 kioti DK40HST.I am looking to purchase a medium duty,60hp gear box,twin tail wheel King kutter professional series 6 ft. rotary cutter.The weight of the the cutter is 1,245 lbs my concern will my tractor handle that weight ok?Anyone own or cut with this model cutter?Thanks.

I had a DK 35 and a Woods BB72 that weighed 800 lbs and it handled that OK but that cutter you mentioned is 50% heavier. It was a little "bouncy" when raised because a cutter is quite long and the weight is quite a bit further back, than say a box blade.

I think your concern is a valid one and would ask the dealer to try it out first, it's probably a bit too much. Good luck!

That's kind of what I am thinking also.The front end loader will stay on the tractor while brush cutting so maybe that would be a good counter balance?

I have a hardee 6 foot bush hog and Woods RM990 I run behind my Kioti 45. Bush hog is easy for Kioti. The woods works but I mow with loader on and still hit the 4x4 button when backing up or turning sometimes. I really like the Woods as cut is much better and if grass is thick I can slow down. Not sure what woods weighs but it is a tank.

My Kioti 72 RFM weighs 661 lbs, and the DK45 doesnt even know its there with foot high grass.

I think that's a better fit for your machine.I just purchased a Landpride 6ft.that weights at 719 lbs behind my L4240 and it's a good fit,you will know it's there when raised.

I agree, I was **** bent on buying a medium/heavy duty cutter but for what I am cutting (field grass/small brush)I believe this cutter will fill my needs.

I bought that exact same mower. I've only been able to use it a couple times for short periods but I like it a lot. It's currently being run behind a 5325 (55 pto hp) and it does fine. Probably a little overkill but I bought it to run behind a smaller tractor I will be buying in the future and because I got a great deal on it.
