Is it possible to increase the speed of my Husqvarna RZ5424! I was a bit spikes in using a Kubota commercial grade for a few weeks and had to return it. I recently bought the Husq and it's just slow. Is there a way to increase the speed of my ZTR?

Thanks

Larger hyd pumps with more GPM, but will need more HP

Larger diameter tires, but will decrease the torque

Your speed is determined by the amount of HP available, pump size, motor size, tire size.

If you change just one, you have to adjust another.

To change the speed of you ZTR, just get a different machine. The engines, hydraulic motors, pumps and tires are designed as a single unit and not much you can do to change it without boosting up everything on the machine which would be mucho dinero even if it could be done.

Want commercial speed from your mower, get a commercial mower or else just be satisfied with what you have.

Just picked up a Husky MZ6128. (w/ZT 3100s) It's sold as a residential mower but ... well its ground speed is a bit fast when cutting if the steering bars are anywhere near fully forward. I suspect it's sorta like having a 'high' range on a HST tractor and fine for traveling vs working. Of course, there are adjustable stops to adjust how far forward the handles can go on many ZTRs, or to balance WFO side to side.

I've tweaked the stops about as far as they can go tying to prevent going too fast when mowing, and still have to moderate how far I push 'em. Reason is obvious, isn't it? Skipping and leaving stripes when revved to get tip speed up there. With ~2 hrs on the meter (shows only when blades engaged, btw) I'm getting a feel for it but the ride seems rougher than with the much slower CC RZT50. :(

Is it possible to increase the speed of my Mazda Miata? I was a bit spoiled in using a Z51 Corvette for a few weeks and had to return it. I recently bought the Miata and it's just slow. Is there a way to increase the speed of my Miata?

Thanks

Sorry about the parody, Husq guy but the above is essentially what you are asking. Your ZTR is what it is and if it no longer makes you happy, then trade it in on a new Kubota or some other brand that offers higher ground speed. As often said, you got what you paid for.

Depends on how it is made. If chain final drive you can possibly change the size of the drive gear or driven gear.

Even though my Fast-Trac Dixie Chopper will run about 13 MPH, you can not really get a decent cut at that speed.

I run it fast when I am finished cutting.

You probably should have tested about 6 or 7 ZTRs to see which one fits your purpose.
