kOua....Frontier purchased Verizon to provide rural landline services several years back....THEY supplied the router and deliver the landline service, Verizon is my cell provider and BOTH of them deliver such crappy performance it makes me furious. My feelings were and always will be, if they can provide urban customers with five bars of cell coverage and 15 mbps download, since I pay the same price for service as the urban dwellers do for both cell and internet, there is NO EXCUSE for my not getting the same quality of service here. NONE. I don't give a flying f*ck what it costs them to deliver that same quality to me, if they can't , then raise the price to urban subscribers who get 10X the service for the same price and let THEM pay 10X for what they get. PERIOD!!!!!
So... do you think you should get first class four lane highway to your vary house, no matter the costs. Heck, why should you have to drive 30 minutes to a hospital; you should have one built right next to your house, no matter the cost; cause you deserve exactly the same service at no extra cost? Water and sewer should be ran an unlimited distance, for free oof coarse, because it's unfair you don't have it.
It's the real world, money is limited, and you have no god given right to excellent phone service. You do however have the right to stop paying for it.
Edit: I do think they (Telecoms) should have more information about where there service works before you sign a contract; and some realistic speeds. Yes, you buy UP TO 15 mb/s, but it would be nice if they told you before the install, that your speed would be about 5-10% of that. Those big coverage maps are fine, but the seem very optimistic, lots of areas that show coverage have little, intermittent, or no service.
