Paul, please post back and let us know how it works out.

Well; it's been roughly a month since we signed up for Dishnet, and I have several observations:

1 it's fast when it works

2 it works most of the time, not during bad storms, and some times for no good reason will stop for a while in just cloudy weather for 5 mins to an hour... this has only happened a couple times

3 10 gigs of anytime is about the minimum I would want. We used like 50% in the first 3rd of the cycle. Used maybe 10% of the 2am-8am "bonus" data. We don't do a huge amount of Internet stuff, but we avoid unnecessary YouTube and other online videos now. Wife will download the "TrueBlood" shows, and I might watch a 30 second to 5 minute youtube video on occasion.

4 the wifi connection to phones is odd, you often have to hit reload/refresh on a Web page or app because it's like the wifi went to sleep?

General note/complaint/rant/thought, it's kinda annoying to having all this home/mobile stuff and really not be able to take advantage of it. Sure, everyone advertises about streaming TV shows over your phone, but unless you have an unlimited data plan (sprint, boost, t-mobile) you really can't use it. And it just so happens that in my area, the unlimited providers are either poor service (boost/sprint) or really really slow (t-mobile)

I priced a system from Culligan for my well water. It was going to run between $8K - $10K. I was able to find essentially the same setup, if not better, quoted around $3500.

Got the system done and installed by Culligan for under $2500. Hopefully it works as advertised.

Thanks much for your detailed feedback....and I can tell you for a fact that those so-called "unlimited data"plans for phones are anything BUT unlimited. And as for Wifi connections...My Android and Blackberry get dropped from my Frontier router daily...they should automatically reconnect but they never do. It has reached the point here where Wifi is so crappy I have basically given up and run Ethernet cables from the router to every computer, and Frontier won't do a d*** thing about the crappy service.

I would recommend getting a separate device to handle your wireless needs. I have and highly recommend the Amazon.com: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND V2 Wireless N300 Gigabit Router, 300Mbps, USB port for Storage, 3 Detachable Antennas, Speed Boost up to 450Mbps, WPS Button: Electronics
$45 on Amazon and its a excellent piece of equipment.
Then you can call Frontier, ask them how to set your router to "Bridge Mode" and you will be good to go.

It's probably something they set up in the router, helps them decrease bandwidth use. We do the same at work on our guest system, it disconnects you after one hour. With every employee and guest cellphone and tablet wifi enabled once they connect the first time they autoconnect whenever they re-enter the building. It slowed our private system down to the point IT had to do something.

I do like Aaron suggested, I use my SuddenLink supplied modem/router in bridge mode as a modem only and use my own D-Link router. Nothing ever disconnects and I have a private connection and a wireless guest connection. That way I don't have to give my password out to anyone coming over to visit. I sit so far back from the road no one can get a signal and leach off me unless they are parked next to my house or in it.

I've experienced the routers wireless security causing connect issues with mobile devices, turn it off and all is good.
Works for us because we are somewhat isolated, can't recommend it if there's a chance of someone else acceding the wifi.

+2 on this. JD this will also take the whole WiFi situation out of the hands of your provider Frontier and place control of your network in your hands. All of that for $45. Plus you get some gigabit ports to put your server computers on.
