Mid Mount Mower Problem

/ Mid Mount Mower Problem #11
I have the same problem with my B2920 and my 60"mmm. Mine is at the dealer right now for this. Should be interesting what they do to fix the issue. Mine has done this from day one and has 80hrs on it now.

I found the fix that another person had posted for this. Google the search terms "B2620 MMM height adjustment" Then once in that thread, which is on the tractorbynet forum, under the eighth post there is a link to a PDF of the fix. Hope this helps.

Thank you to everyone for their help with this problem. It certainly sounds as though this is a pretty common problem, Kubota should certainly come up with a TSB to fix this problem. Not the sort of problem I would expect from Kubota based on their overall reputation.

I got mine fixed at the dealer last saturday. The tractor never came with the spring piece of steel with the carrage bolt that goes up against the back side of the cam gear. They put one on it and bam! Instant mower deck fix!!!!

My BX2370 wit a 60" mid-mount is doing similar things and the height adjustment hardware is generally hard to use to begin with (poor design that constantly "binds up" / difficult to adjust).......

.........overall, the tractor is very good, but I sure wish they'd have independent hydraulics for the mid-mount and the rear lift arms...........

I saw a very small silver metal piece next to the cam I was wondering if that is what stops it from turning.....it doesn't look very heavy duty. How much did they charge for the fix? Probably the pick up and delivery of the tractor will cost more than the repair.
Thanks

That isn't what keeps it from turning when the weight of the deck is on the Cam. It is the part that allows for the turning of the Cam to the next height setting. Otherwise the Cam would just turn freely without the noticeable clicking you feel/hear between height adjustments.

Just thought I'd share my experience with attempting this fix and see if anyone has any other input about it.

The first part of adding 1/4 inch washer to the base of the CAM I was able to do. I had to widen the hole of a washer I had lying around by boring it on a lathe but simply adding this made the height adjustment shaft and the CAM much more stable.

The second part of using a grinding tool to increase the valleys of the CAM I skipped.

The third part of replacing the flange nut with a lock nut I was unable to do as I am unable to find a proper size lock nut to replace the flange nut .

Was able to replace the flange nut with a metric hex nut from advanced auto parts which is M10 1.25 and 14mm in width. So I pretty much got the third part of this fix done I just used a lock washer and hex nut rather than the lock nut. If you replace that flange nut it has to be 15mm or less in width or it won't fit up the CAM hole.

If you do decide to fix this yourself it is much easier to work on with the MMM off.
