Can I cut light brush with a Zero Turn?

Ideal for someone with a 5' flail mower. Mulches up the leaves and gives the sticks heck too. Lazyboy is not thinking by tearing up a new piece of equipment ,but it is your money. And they say college costs alot.

Well I guess I didn't describe the area good enough, it's not a complete carpet of 1/4" brush, it just has a few of those scattered around but more than I want to pull up by hand. The rest of the area is just tiny brush and oak saplings. And I need to pick up the sticks too.

If your zero turn will not mow that area safely, trade it in for a eXmark Lazer Z
Mine has been mowing much worse for 13 plus years with only one mule belt damaged in all those years

I know it's not a zero turn but my Jd x540 cuts a heck of a lot more than that with a side discharge 54" deck!
I've been know to mulch up hedge trimmings, brambles & branches up to a inch with it!
Might not be the best thing for it but hey, it works!

My Exmark 60" has also cut much worse than this, just pick up any dead sticks 1/2 inch or larger and go for it!

I time cutting the rough stuff to right before I sharpen or replace my blades on JD 820A ZT with 60" deck. Have several places that I can't get to, due to spacing of trees, with tractors.

Yep, pictures ate worth a thousand words. That's much different than I pictured. I wouldn't have a moments hesitation cutting all that with a ztr. Just pick up any sticks bigger than 3/4" or so and you are good.

Not what I pictured.

It looks more like grassy stalks as opposed to woody. And its not very dense.

You shouldnt have any issues with a ztr.

Not what I pictured either. I would cut this with my ZT.

My neighbor mows his field (I'll estimate 4 acres) with his Deere 900 series ZTR. The field grass isn't too bad, but he is beating the heck out of his machine.

FYI, after a couple times mowing with my rotary cutter, I use my RFM to mow my field (again, 4 acres, plus or minus), but I go a lot slower and I do think my RFM (a Woods built implement) is more robust then his ZTR. But it is tough on the blades.

With the picture the OP posted, I guess I'd try it once...see how it does.

Well it's cut, the ZTR chewed it like candy, I even hit a few places that were pretty well covered like a carpet and no problems.
