Well my LS is a low end utility tractor (70 Engine HP) and had 3 PTO speeds, 540, 750 & 1000 rpm and it doesn't cost much more than 1/3 of your quote. I paid $35,500 for mine with FEL, triple rear remotes, Cab with heat and AC. But it is gear drive. I believe they offer it in shuttle shift now at least in some of the 70xx models but I don't recall them offering an HST in it. The 50XX series may also offer a multi-speed PTO shaft. I will have to look it up on their websit.

EDIT: Well per website the U series LS only have 540 PTO shaft speed so I suppose one would have to get the P series if he wanted multi- speed PTO. Still they are less than $40K in price and are a lot of tractor for the money. Likely a bit larger than Ted is looking for though.

But no HST. Pursuing the rabbit trail, the closest thing that mimics an HST is a CVT, that was my line of thinking. I believe the tractor in the video had $26,000 in options so it sold for north of $100k.

Dont get mad at me for saying this, but in your buisness making videos with your tractor it is essentially a show tractor. Not ALL but a lot of the people watching your videos are people that just bought a tractor and aren't excatly tractor experts. I would buy something that is incredibly popular. So that way people aren't wondering if "will my tractor fit that implement?". Even though I own one, im still not a massive fan of the brand but I would buy a Kubota. A lot of people have them, so when someone sees the video they won't worry if the attachment fits that tractor.

Call up Kubota and say you need a "free loaner" tractor for your videos. If they have any sense at all they will put a L5460 HST open station on a truck right to you. Your vids are everywhere and it would be "dirt" cheap advertising for them.Would be interesting to see if any company these days has sense enough to do something so obviously smart for the company.

In the Tom Hank's movie "Castaway" they wanted to soccer ball to be named Spalding but the company refused!!! They then got Wilson to let them name the soccer ball in the movie "Wilson". That is just about the IQ of the middle management in U.S companys these days. I wonder if Kubota would be any better?

Bilrus61 has a good Idea here but I would try and take it a step further. Call a few different makers and see if you can use different tractors for different vids.

Well, why even ask TBN then? Chase down to that dealer and make a deal promising to not do the "big peel" of the dealership's advert sticker.
