Thanks. I am going with the 80w90 per your chart.. Looks like the "T/M" mentioned in my manual is referring to hydraulic/Transmission fluid but i'll stick with the 80w90.

I just had this conversation with my local dealer. He recommends the gear oil instead of using the UTF. I'll trust his years of experience.

I put in 80w90 in my CK30hst 9 years and @800 hours ago for it's first 50 hour service. No problems. Hydraulic tranny fluid was drained out from factory. I believe the 85w140 would be to heavy even in your warmer climate.

Make sure it is GL-5 rated. Most stuff at discount tractor places is GL-1 rated. I have 2 gallons of GL-1 stuff picked up at Tractor Supply I would love to give to someone. I picked it up and 2 buckets of Yellow " universal " tractor fluid to do 1000 hour service. After doing research on specifications I ended up using GL-5 oil in front axel and Kubota Super UTD in trans.
Good Fluid is much cheaper than gears, hydraulic pumps and transmissions. IMO

you MUST be kidding.

gl1-3 products are all but special order!

napa will get it for you but usually no longer stocks it. tsc sells a specific gl1 90 for old ford and fergy trannies.. but it costs more than their generic 80w90 gl5 oil.

all the generics at walmart are gl5 oils.. etc. rural king, in selected locations will have gl1 oil.. but their generic hose brand is gl5

Warren is the same company that makes the mystery 5 gallon yellow bucket hydraulic fluid with 20 year out of date specifications. AP-1 on left AP-5 on right.

it's up to the purchaser to purchase the correct material. not purchase the wrong stuff then blame the botteler..

uh? no.. I don't see anyhing in your post mentioning special order.. nor do i see how it would make a difference. special order or off the shelf... neither mean anything.. ig you need gl5 and grab and buy gl1.. there's only 1 party at fault

if you 'special ordered' the WRONG oil.. it is not the maker or sellers fault....

If I walk into a store and order an apple.. and really needed an orange.. it is not the orchards or produce counters fault... ???

I stayed with the transmission/hydro fluid in my front axle, I used Mobil 424 as it is one of the fluids listed in the manual.
