Coffee is brewing. 54° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81° with mix of sun and clouds. No rain again yesterday. Got the lawn cut yesterday. Lowered mower 1/2" to get rid of all the clover growing in lawn. Got rid of the clover. But there was so much clippings I had to get Trak-Vac out to clean them up. 2 full loads later the place did not smell like a compost pile. Going to sit back and relax again today. Little NASCAR in the afternoon.
Good Morning All.

Cold snowy winters are something we accept in New Hampshire. Last winter it was the continued cold that bothered us late into the spring. I had a knee operation so spent February and March inside and other people took care of the snow and bringing in the wood. Easy work load but tough otherwise! lOL

69 with 82 and chance of thunderstorms. Haven't seen the sun but for a peek or two since July, but the clouds are breaking up some this morning.

If it dries, I have hours of mowing to do. I hate running power equipment on Sunday, it is so peaceful and quiet outside right now.

56 right now and a high of 82 today....40% chance of rain.

Wife's back from visiting her daughter. She wasn't too pissed about the zero turn mower purchase (maybe due to jet lag).
Finished mowing the lawn and mowed the field. We have to go to the store for some groceries this morning...then I have to move the loader and cutter out of the outbuilding so I can park the zero turn there.

57*F headed to 80 today.

Another cold & snowy winter in the East? As Wayne said, winter is what we expect in the northeast. I think last winter's length was unusual here for below average cold early and late, it was getting to people in spring. Ya never know, we had 8" of snow on Halloween three years ago, but I can remember cutting firewood in the second week of December in mild temps and bare ground. I think that was around 2009.

good morning all. reporting in from Washington NC now that I found a replacement battery charger for my laptop, which some fool forgot. Perched on an uncomfortable chair in the kitchen with the laptop on the counter, I am watching the rain keep coming down. Just went into town, after having a blueberry waffle at the Waffle House, then on to Lowes for a curtain rod, etc, so I can use the guest bathroom until the new one is remodeled. Being going through a lot of clorox cleanup and wipes before I touch anything, particularly in the bathroom. They left it clean though; that older lady scrubbed the heck out of things, months ago...

did not sleep that well on my airbed, back was awful in the morning. Need more lumbar support. I tried sleeping with my back belt on, unhooked and loose, but the "bump" there was just what was needed.

spent two hours yesterday damp mopping the huge laminate spaces in this house, all of which had nice floors underneath that were ruined by something. Something. Will surely see what's under there when I have them rip it all out and replaced with carpeting and tile. hopefully nothing nasty looking, but then why was there a thin shiny silver pad lad down in between the original floor and this laminate?
the plot thickens. They had dogs and my worst fears are that something yukky is under there, and I'll have to tear it all up and start over. Which would not be that much more expensive than what I'm about to do anyway. With the exception of the laminate floors, everything in this house is built to a higher standard, and they just slapped that over all those hardware floors on the way out. The kitchen sink must have leaked so that part of the laminate was already ruined, but I want to rip up everything near the sink and make sure the flooring is ok. I'm putting in a new kitchen so it's just a little more ripping apart. And I sure don't want to put a new kitchen and tile floor on top of a weakened floor support.

Interesting, the whole first floor of this house is about three feet off the ground. I'm going to put in a 36kw backup gen and I think I'm going to put it up several feet, hidden behind the house on the opposite end from the bedrooms. If the storm is bad enough to send several feet of water in here, sure do want that power to keep going...

otherwise, having a ball...
headed back to PA Tuesday. Lots of showing on house there.

Going to start to stack wood today. Have lots to stack!! :) We are headed off to the farmer's market about 11. Then back to work for a bit. Thinking about buying a M101 trailer from a neighbor. He's asking $600, that is a bit high, but he has been a great neighbor, and has helped me on a couple of jobs, so I don't think I will quibble much. The trailer is in good shape. I think it would be great behind my Kubota. It might rain a bit later today.

I have my genset on the opposite side of the house, away from the bedroom, and I can't hardly hear it, if the windows are closed.

Hi Drew, What an adventure you are off on now.

That silver pad beneath the laminate could be correct for the installation. Wood floors below that could need refinishing, but who knows until you look?

71F and .23 inches rain last 24 hours. Sunny, but still a big cloud out there.

Breakfast potluck at friends this morning.
Likely still too wet to mow this afternoon, might have to jus take it easy.
Be safe
Have a great day
