when I first looked at the individual pictures I thought to myself that the stone with the brick did not really look that good
But the whole house picture really looks great and I commend you on your keen eye to come up with that combo

Thanks! But, of course, I have to give credit to my wife for that. :)

Main level is insulated with sheet rock to start this weekend. Insulator should be back next week to finish the basement. It's amazing what a difference insulation makes to the acoustics of the home. There is no echo. It's just kinda weird. They even insulated between the laundry room and master bedroom to cut down on sound. I hadn't thought of doing that, but I'm glad they did.

This is your last easy chance to add any insulation you want around plumbing or between rooms. Also last chance to run anything in the walls for future use. I ran a few pieces of 1" black plastic water line from the basement to the attic and a few other places.

That water line is a great idea. I have run coax and Ethernet cable from the basement to the attic, but I think I will add the water line 'just in case!' Thanks for the idea!

Sheet rock is all hung. Mudding/taping is starting today. Amazing how much difference it makes to have the walls covered. It actually starts to look like a house inside instead of boards stuck together.

Exterior rail is on the back deck now (except for the steps...waiting for them to be finished), so less worry of kids (and others) falling off.

Soffit is all complete as well (3rd pic below is just before it was complete, so a bit of the beam is still showing). Hopefully gutters this week.

Top soil is spread as well, but no pics of it to show. Plan to sow seed next week, weather permitting.

Looking awesome! The sheetrock phase is always an appearance changer. Almost as dramatic as boxing in the outside for visual impact.

Question, can you replace an entire window unit without messing with bricks? Are they trapped by the bricks or screwed on from the inside of the window frame into a wood box? I recently replaced mine and had to do a bunch of siding work.....you know, the dreaded siding....

The windows were nailed from the outside, so replacing one wouldn't be possible without messing with the brick. However, I do think they make 'replacement' windows that could be used in place of one if it had to be replaced. One of these could be taken out (not easily, I'm sure) without messing with the brick, then a new one screwed through the frame. At least, I think that's the way it works. :)
