George, How does your LS sit on that trailer? Do you have to roll the loader to get it far enough ahead??
The LS fits fine on the trailer. At 20' long I have plenty of room to move the tractor fore & aft if needed. I usually pull the tractor up so the loader bucket is within 18" from the front of the trailer then chain it down. The XR3037HC w/ loader weighs about 4600 lb so with an added implement I am at the trailers maximum capacity. My previous tractor only weighed about 4K. For the number of times I need to haul the tractor at this time the trailer is excellent. I am looking and hope to find a 20-24' Tilt trailer in the 10-12K capacity rating because in the next year or so I will be doing more hauling and don't like to haul at max capacity all the time. Will probably have to buy new because used 20-24'ers rarely come up for sale in my area. I may try selling mine and just buy a new one now but 6K or more is a buch to spend. If need be I can haul the XR in my dump trailer which has a 10K capacity.
I am looking at this one in a 10,400# capacity. Priced it at $4,500 and i'm going to push them to toss in the remote control. Stepping up to the 14K is a LOT nicer trailer but i can spend another $1,900 although 16" tires WOULD be nice............ PJ Trailers - 83" Hydraulic Quick Tilt (TH)
That's a nice trailer. I've looked at them before. Get the electric / hyd option (manual jack takes too long) and the larger tires and of course, a spare.
This one comes with 6 bolt wheels & 5,200# axles with 6 ply 15" tires. It has the elec/hyd bed. I really wanted to step up to the next size with 7K axles and 16" tires but the price is WAAAAY out of my budget...............
I don't care what anyone says, 6 ply tires are not enough for 5,200# axles. We are currently putting on 10 ply on all the 5,200# axles we have but 8 ply is enough.
The reason I go 10 ply is my cost is only $3 more per tire over 8 ply.
Chris
Looking for less rolling resistance is not going to happier economically. I don't care if you pulled the trailer a thousand miles a week for the next 5 years you will never recoup you initial lay out.My bad, Meant to say 8 ply not 6 ply. Load range D 2,450# per tire. I may upgrade to 6 bolt 16" wheels in the future as i could mount 10 or 14 ply 16's that way. Just looking for less rolling resistance.......
I would look at Kaufman factory direct. I have there 24 with fixed 10 foot front. Best trailer I have owned. No need for power tilt if trailer is designed correctly. Easily controlled by weight of load.
