I believe this one does not have lines, select the no guideline version. Amazon.com : Esky EC170-06 World Smallest HD Color CCD Waterproof Vehicle Car Rear View Backup Camera, 170 Degree Viewing Angle Rearview Camera(0.86*0.65*0.50 inch) : Vehicle Video Products : Car Electronics You may be able to able to find something on ebay but you won't be able to check the reviews like you can on Amazon.

Roger;

I saw that camera but, missed the no guideline version. Think I will get one and see how it works.

The big problem with all of these cameras is the power interface cable that plugs into the red camera power connector. The black / red wires are so small (24 gauge maybe?) that they will be fragile and are certainly hard to strip the insulation. I need to find a interface cable with maybe 16 gauge wires so I can adapt one of these plugs.

Well, got around to installing the camera today. Got a couple of problems. 1. Contrary to earlier posts, the square nut or threaded base are not 1/4". They appear to be the metric equivalent, what ever size that may be. This means I was not able to use the RAM mount balls. 2. For this reason I tried to use the included mount. I was surprised that it would actually fit my application. Now that it's stuck on, I find the base swivel is loose allowing the monitor to shake - a lot. 3. The camera is of such low resolution that I could barely make out the fire 20' behind me. Could barely tell my wife just flashed me, so the camera has to go. Is it a defective camera, or should I step up to a better one?

I think you should post the video of your wife flashing you and let us decide if you need a camera with better resolution or if it's just your eyes. Hee Hee

I am 99.9% sure that my nut was 1/4-20. You probably could get a nut at a hardware store that would work. Did you get the camera like I linked in post #1?

Yea, ordered the same one. Colors were all washed out with very poor contrast. The "nut" was a square piece of threaded 12 gauge sheet metal. A regular nut would not fit in the groove.

Did you adjust the settings on the monitor?

The flat threaded square piece matched up with the windshield suction mount and 1/4-20 perfectly.

Thanks Roger. Ordered the camera w/o guidelines last Friday and should receive it tomorrow.

I plan to use the camera, that came with the monitor, for rear view.
