Help with non working gauges

I'm new to the forum, so hope I get this correct.

I just purchased a 2009 Cub Cadet Yanmar EX3200 tractor and my fuel gauge and Temp gauge are dead. All warning lights, tach, hour meter, headlights and dash lights work perfect. Any help or ideas? Thank you

Welcome to the forum. :welcome: Not far from you at Gilmer area. No wiring diagram but might just check the fuse box if you haven't. Might look a pages 127 and 127 here for a look at the wiring harness. Cub Cadet Ex32002 Parts List Manual (Page 128 of 182)

Thanks, I did check all fuses and they're good. Each gauge has 3 wires on back of them, red, black, yellow. With a test light bought gauges red wire has power.

I'm sure you have probably checked the sensors making sure the wires are connected to them?

yes sir, even tried grounding the positive wire on the fuel sending unit. Nothing happened with the needle on the gauge. I haven't pulled the sending unit from the tank.

Do you have a wiring diagram? I am wondering if one of the 3 wires going to the gauges is for illumination?

I bet the yellow one is lights, I'll check it.

I would guess yellow is ground, black and red hot. Sure nuff a guess.

Fuel gauge worked a couple days off and on, but not the temp. Could it be a ground?

Short answer, but yes it could be ground.
