Just got off of the phone with Barlows.

I talked to Steve from Barlows briefly yesterday morning and he was to call back to go over the quote and I'm still waiting for the call back. :( He is so laid back, it worries me. He had the best price by a long shot from any other dealer I worked with. I just hope once I order the tractor, it only takes 2 weeks to get to me like he mentioned.

I'm sure any reputable dealer would include BH frame with a BH and Steve Barlow is a reputable dealer. He is a laid back guy and is a man of his word. His delivery driver Marvin is also a very reliable man.

One difference between Messick's and Barlows is that Messick's has to charge PA sales tax on an in-state purchase whereas Barlow's does not if they delivery the tractor out-of-state. Of course, technically, you are suppose to declare the purchase and pay sales tax (technically "use" tax) to PA. In most states, there's a line on your annual income tax return where you voluntarily declare the out-of-state purchases so the tax can be calc'd and included as part of your annual return. Anyway, just wanted to point that out. On a $20K net purchase, that would result in $1,200 difference assuming 6% sales tax.

JOHNTHOMAS, you are correct. When I put the order in with Steve, he said that he had to locate the sub frame and mounting kit. He said he has everything else.

I did get a quote from Messick's and they offered me a pretty low trade in compared to other dealers. Their asking price was ok, but I had other local dealers beat their price and got a better trade offer. That's my experience anyway, not trying to bash. If I go apples to apples with the L3560, Messicks came out to $476 a month and my local dealer was at $441 a month. That's a $2100 difference. With Barlow's, the L4060 with the same add-ons plus adding the heavier FEL Bucket\edge, Deluxe canopy and front/rears lights, out the door, my payment is well under $500. I still don't know how Barlow's does it.

I did email Messicks again last night to see if they could price the L4060 for me, but I never heard back from them.

I just got an email back from Messick's saying that they did not get me email, so I do appreciate good customer service.
