Single oil for multiple tractors

OP - that Amsoil ACD you listed has a decent Pour Point, for a straight 30 rated oil. Good oil, and also has an SL gasoline rating.

If any of your diesels really don't like cold weather starts, consider a 5W40 or 0W40 for easier starting. I'm seeing a fair amount of Rotella T6 available here now in 0W40.

I like many Amsoil products just fine, but I won't say No to T6, esp. On Sale....

wpala we moved to 5W-40 Rotella T6 so we could have just one motor oil for everything be it gas or diesel that runs about $22 a gallon at WM. I do not know the AMSOIL line but some like it.

If one has a problem with the cold, an oil pan heater works great. Got sold on them when living in Alaska. I have one on my NH Compact and my semi truck. Instead of worrying about some great major boutique oil that will flow nicely in Antarctica, just get the Amsoil 10w30 / 30w that the OP mentioned and if one has to deal with serious cold start ups, use a oil pan heater. Going to have to plug in a block heater anyway, so putting on a small oil pan heater is just making things that much better. Warms not only the oil, but the lower part of the block as well.

I'm gradually moving to T6 as well. I might keep the 15W-40 Rotella T in my old Ford and another small engine that burns the 5w-40 a little too much. Either way I have reduced the number of oils from 4 or 5 down to 1 or 2. Much easier to keep on hand and less waste. Easier winter starts, and the engines smooth out much quicker after starting.
Also, if you have a Menards close to you check for Rotella there. They sell it for less than Wallmart.

Locally O'Reilly as cut the price to $22 and right now they have a $5 Mail-In rebate too which is the kind I hate.

We have found T6 when first used in a dirty gas engine while cause the oil to go black very fast but in the case of the 1989 Ford 429 in the dump truck after a couple filter only changes it cleared up and stayed fairly clear. We like it for the zinc for out flat tappet engines.

I have 2 older tractors , and 2 newer + RTV diesel, some older ones require SEA30 oil, newer 10W30, I found this on the amsoil web site and was wondering if this would be a good option of buying single oil for all my tractors? specs are impressive and is an Amsoil

It's not just viscosity that matters.
Wear protection ratings and ash content are vital .
The knob that owned my Detroit Diesel two stroke JD 435's used ordinary HD diesel oil in the crankcase. He was pretty proud that he didn't need no service manual as he had used equipment for 50yrs and didn't need no d&m fool book to tell him what to do.
The high ash content and the multi weight additives scored the sleeves and plugged the ports with deposits.
Every now and again a manager of fleet operations where there is two stroke and four stroke equipment gets the bright money saving idea to use the same oil in everything. Lots of over time for the mechanics and business for the engine shop after those decisions .
Today we still have operators not using low ash oil in 2007 and later particulate filter diesels.
Was also have people using the modern low ash diesel oil in earlier diesels that don't have roller cam followers. Then they look baffled when they wipe out bearings, cams and followers.

A 0w30, 5w30 or 10w30 oil can replace any oil requirement for straight 30w, long as they're diesel rated.

For my money I'd go with a 0w30 if I could find it. So far, I haven't found such for a diesel. My VW TDI uses a special 507 C3 oil made by Castrol that's 5w30. You can buy it at a VW dealership.
