Bad mouthing a Kioti?

you apparently missed this part: In case you didn't know, Mistubishi is in Japan and a whole bunch of Mahindra tractor models are made by them. Many other Mahindra models are made in Korea. It seems that mostly the tractors used in India and other less 'modern' countries are made in India. sorry, I don't mean to hijack a Kioti thread.
I'd buy a mitsubishi powered tractor any day. I think their diesels are world class, and I did buy my son a LS U5030 with a mitsubishi S4S engine. Wonderful machine. No matter were it's made though remember the if you Mahindra the $$ flow to India. HS

Just so everyone knows.. There never has been not a single ever post on TBN about metallurgy on Kioti castings. And Deadong (Kioti's actual name, as Kioti is just a trade name in North America) has their own foundry in South Korea that makes all of their castings. Just saying. There has been plenty of postings about failed key switches on Kioti's and failed start relays, and fuel stop relays (same relay) and they are about $5 at the auto parts stores. The key switches get rain water in them because of how they are placed on the steering colunmn. They are easily fixed, but many have been replaced. Lets just nip this casting bull$hit in the bud before it gets repeated. rant off.:)

You don't mind the flow of $$ to Japan but not to India? Were you in North Korea or South Korea? Where are your links to bad castings? JD has a # of bad castings on their Axles in the Compact market.

Murph, I do not think he is real good at tying facts to his "facts" from my reading of his posts.

The WHOLE tractor is made by Mitsubishi.

No matter what you buy, it's most likely foreign and the money leaves the U.S.

My reading over every post in TBN of all the brands in deciding lead my to think the most problematic brand with reports in threads was Kioti. Internal broken shafts and flawed cast pieces with pictures scared me from Kioti. Much of their manufacturing parts supply was coming from China or just couldn't be tracked. So I took them off my list. HS
Where do you get this stuff, Do you just make it up as you go ???
I've been on TBN for many years also.
I don't recall ever seeing or reading anything like that.

Neither have I.

HS stated:" My reading over every post in TBN of all the brands in deciding lead my to think the most problematic brand with reports in threads was Kioti. So I took them off my list. It's owners reporting issues on TBN that pushed me away from seriously considering them. Personally I think they are a bit under engineered and cast and machined parts have quality issues. Metallurgy is suspect. They are built to price break. As for Mahindra, I simply wouldn't buy any major product like a tractor from India."

WOW! You read EVERY post in TBN, of ALL the brands!? You must have a ginormous brain to retain all that data!
And having done so, you were led to think Kioti was the most problematic brand? Sounds to me like you drew that conclusion all on your own. You are entitled to your own personal opinion, BUT that doesn't make it FACT!

HS Stated: Internal broken shafts and flawed cast pieces with pictures scared me from Kioti. Much of their manufacturing parts supply was coming from China or just couldn't be tracked. Where is a single piece of data to back up your above claims? Are you a mechanical engineer, and expert in casting technology or a machine parts quality control technician? Metallurgy expert? "built to price break'?! What are you even talking about- that comment makes NO sense.

I will concede more TBN members who own Kiotis seem to be a group of people not afraid to do work on their own tractors for various reasons; liking maintaining their own equipment, saving money, gaining knowledge through hands on experience, etc. This in no way makes their Kioti tractor choice any less valid, nor does it make their efforts to solve potential or actual problems with their tractors a rash of machines with 'suspect' anything. They are without a doubt a force to be reckoned with and a very well built and thought out line of tractors. I've owned two DK series since 2009 when I bought my first tractor from Kioti. I have not been let down in over 1050+ hrs of use to date. I've used other brands previous to owning my tractors, and it is clear to me that Kioti will stand the test of time against any of the other available brands being sold.

Now if you can provide some fact based evidence to support your claims I believe you would, but since you can't I suspect you won't.

I am sure somewhere, some time a casting or a shaft may have broken on one of Kiotis builds, what manufacture has not had such a failure, but I doubt their rate is any higher and I would submit lower than many other manufactures
