3-Point Hitch Telescoping Stabilizers

I haven't seen one I like and they all set the equipment back some distance.

I've bought 3 different quick hitches and they beat not having any quick hitches. I thought they were the greatest thing since sliced bread until I saw/had the extension arms and I'd still recommend them if one works alone and don't have the extension arms.
I've had the extension arms on a L model tractor. The only thing better about the quick hitches are they are a lot cheaper but nowhere as handy as the extension arms and the further back part of the quick hitches is the pits on some attachments. I can't use them with my tiller since they set the tiller to far back and I don't want to buy an additional longer drive shaft for the tiller. OK for box blade and other attachments but not as good/handy as the extension arms.

Just something I can't warm up to, I have a set of PATS lying around my shop somewhere, but I can't find all the pieces to sell them. Tried them on two tractors and just don't like them for the reason you mentioned, sets too far back for my PTO equipment. I don't like utting them on and taking them off when i change equipment. I bought a set for my GL and found the extendable links work better than the quick hitch. I looked at the three point one from LP, but same problem and I saw a couple of bad reviews.

I have to have help hooking stuff up anyway now, so I have pretty much accepted things as they are. I know people swear by them, I am just one of the odd ones I suppose.

Let me pay the devils advocate for a minute. Why not use a 3pt hitch quick attach system instead ?

In our case, the turnbuckles were on our B5100, which has about 320# lift limit on the 3pt hitch. It just manages a 300# Phoenix 40" tiller, but if we moved it any further aft, I don't think it could pick it up, so Pat's and the other quick hitch solutions weren't even workable options. The Stabilworks stabilizers don't alter the geometry of the attachment/3pt hitch, so it works fine.

Let me pay the devils advocate for a minute. Why not use a 3pt hitch quick attach system instead ?

1. I have five PTO powered implements. With Pat's QA or most other QA's you may need longer PTO shafts or, alternately, 4" PTO shaft extentions. No big deal but I prefer everything as simple as possible.

2. With Pat's, at least, you have to use Pat's proprietary lynch pins. I want to continue to use standard lynch pins from local TSC. I seem to lose lynch pins constantly.

3. Rigid stabilizers reinforce the 3-Pt lift arms when pushing. This is important if you push with a box blade and have a relatively light tractor like my Kubota B3300SU: 33-hp / 1,800 pounds.

4. Kubota's iteration of rigid stabilizers are standard on the 'Grand L' series.

A quick hitch makes fancy stabilizers irrelevant. I can easily hitch up to any quick hitch compatible implement without getting out of my seat unless I need to hook up a PTO or hydraulics.

The point of the stabilizers isn't to expedite hooking anything up but rather to make it safe to use an attachment like a box blade to push safely in reverse.

People use their equipment in distinct ways. Personally, ease of mounting implements with is 65% of the reason to have telescoping, pinned, rigid stabilizers and strength/reliability 35%.

I bought aftermarket telescoping, pinned, rigid stabilizers from Mark Hodge at Stabilworks for my earlier Kubota B3300SU tractor-loader. (See Post #4, Post #14) I liked the Stabilworks setup so well that when I bought a heavier Kubota L3560 it was partly for the Kubota telescoping, pinned, rigid stabilizers standard equipment on the 'Grand L' series.

I spent yesterday at the 2014 Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia. TREMENDOUS EQUIPMENT SHOW! My primary reason for attending was to research heavy Tandem Disc Harrows. However, I spent considerable time at Kioti's large exhibit and LS's large exhibit. Both producers point out their telescoping, pinned, rigid stabilizers as soon as inspection arrives at the Three Point Hitch on their premium lines. Obviously, tractor buyers are interested in this Three Point feature. While I am sure both brands 3-Pts are strong, the Lower Links and stabilizers on my L3560 are more robust than same on Kioti NX series and LS XR4000 series and XU5000 series.

I will never buy another tractor without telescoping, pinned, rigid stabilizers. And, yes, I pull and push a Rollover Box Blade often.

I bought Pat's just before I discovered Stabilworks. Never mounted Pat's. Shipped them to someone in Australia who wanted Pat's and contacted me through this forum.

To be clear, I found a lot to like in the Kioti NX series (4,000 - 4,600 pounds) and LS XR4000 (3,800 - 4,330 pounds) and XU5000 (4,670 - 5,120 pounds) series. Kubota L3560 (tractor only) is 3,650 - 4,025 pounds.

( In heavy Tandem Disc Harrows I preferred offerings from Brown Manufacturing Corp. and Monroe Tufline; premium dollars, premium builds.)
