I call BS on all of them... I've seen wooly bear caterpillars crawling around in the snow; if they caj't figure out that it's spring yet, how can they make long range forecasts? Paper hornets will nest in the ground in a dry summer, in trees ilwhen it's wetter; I've seen nests within sight of each other, one was 60 feet off the ground and the other at eye level... apparently they couldn't decide the forecast.
I thought that Murph was going to win the prize for answer of the day; then / Pine stole it from him.![]()

I think - how fuzzy is the caterpillar, how wide are their stripes, how heavy is the moss on the north side of the trees & the old farmers almanac all fall into the same category. Perhaps educated & mostly wild guesses. I prepare for the extreme and relish in the average.
