Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Just picked up item #69994; 1/2" drive lug nut socket set. 3 double ended sockets and a 3" extension. Seem well made; But I did notice it's 90 day warranty instead of the typical lifetime on there hand tools. Sizes 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, 3/4", 13/16", 7/8".

Very nearly grabbed the argon/CO2 regulator, but set it back down until I asked if anyone has one. I know lots of people have HF welders, even if they are afraid to admit it on the welding forum; anyone have an opinion on the Argon regulator/flow meter?

We have one of the HFD propane torches with P/B igniter. Works great for starting burn piles and shooting down armadillo holes.

"light em' up!"

$30 but with 20% coupon only $24. The one without the igniter is about $10 less and can be ignited with a standard O/A striker. Had one of those first.

Newbury;

Thanks for sharing that. Got several 25% off coupons out of various magazine over about 6 month period late last year but, all went back to 20% now. Will check that one out. Extra 5% is great!

Have been looking at their MIG welder cart with drawers. It is on sale for $170 so 25% off would get it to about $128. Anyone have one of these?

Thanks!

I have the MIG cart with drawers. Easy assembly. Pretty solid and well made by HF standards. Like it much more than the long open MIG cart but it is designed for smooth floor. The open version better for moving around outdoors.

I have this cart and I like it. I don't have a tank on it so I don't know how stable it is with a tank. It rolls around pretty good on a concrete floor. I like the top drawer dividers to keep some consumables separate but you could get a small plastic container with dividers to put your tips and other things in.

I have a forty cu ft tank on mine and it is perfectly stable. I wouldn't hesitate to use an eighty but wouldn't move it around a lot. Not good for bigger tanks IMO.

The coupon I referenced explicitly states not good for tool storage or carts :(

/edit - does anyone know of a site that tracks record low prices on their tools? For example their 3 gallon 100 PSI compressor routinely goes on sale for $49.95, but then also pops up at $39.95 about once every two months.

Thanks for the information. I've been looking at tanks and trying to figure out what size might work well with the cart.
