So how does the new 2601 fit in with the 2650 in the lineup? I guess the '50 models are pitched to be more deluxe, but with position control, QA, and some other niceties, the 2601 already seems like a big step in the deluxe direction compared to the 2620.

Yup. It is somewhat obvious???, well maybe, that the 20 series, standard tractors are now replaced by the 01 and the older 30 series B Deluxe tractors are now the 50 series. It also seems pretty obvious that Kubota and other OEM's dodged that over 26 hp thing with re-rating and selling at 25.5.

Yes, they are very close. The B2601 has the same engine as the B2620, but different transmission with higher top speed. B2650 has different engine and makes rated power at 200 RPM less.
B01 has bigger fuel tank than B20, and B50 is bigger still.
B01 has analog gauges same as B20. B50 is digital.
B01 has telescoping end links, but still has turnbuckle for lift rod. B50 has ratchet.
B50 has third function for loader, but B01 doesn't show that option. But it does have the two built in rear remotes and control levers on the fender.

Going by Canadian list prices a digital dash and those other little differences aren't worth two grand more to me for the B50.

Well what doesn't make sense to me was that the 2620 was a fairly basic tractor, with 1/4-incher 3-pt hitch, no QA, turnbuckle end links, etc... The 2601 is a lot better equipped, overlapping features with the old 2x30 deluxe models and new 2x30 deluxe models. Will be curious to see 2601 pricing in the US, to see if they are giving more features for a similar price point as the 2620, or increasing the price.

Yeup. The "Basic" lines, like the B23,26,2920 were somewhat affordable, but here on TBN and elsewhere folks vocalized their envy of the this and that feature found on the Deluxe series. It's human nature and the OEM's listen to what they think customers are demanding, like depth control, tilt steering, drive over attachments, etc, etc.

Of course, all this comes at a higher and higher price. This isn't substantially different than the auto/truck industry where buying a "plain jane", basic version of anything is virtually impossible as $25,000 "economy" cars and $40,000 pickups now are the new starting points. :confused3:

Glad see Kubota moving up now I just need more money and bigger pasture to need one. I do like the looks of the new tractors.

I agree with all the differences between the B2650 and B2601.

Another observation is that the loader on the 50 is stronger than the 01, the 50 series is larger and heavier, and the mower deck is floating on the 50 and suspended on the 01.

I like how the BH on the 01 (BH70) is redesigned with a curve boom vs the straight boom on the BH65.

The wheelbase on the 01 is almost identical to the 26/2920. I really like that size machine for my needs. The 01 is just a smidge heavier. R1 tires are the same, so I would imagine the R4's would be the same. BX is too small, and B50's series/B3200 is much for MMM mowing.

My B2920 ain't going nowhere...

I just noticed the new B2601 today,didn't realize it is already available.It has some nice features I wish my B2620 had.According to the website the B2601 is priced a bit lower than the B2620 which seems odd.Paystar,would you mind saying how much the B2601 is and how that compares to what you paid for the B2620?

It is about the same as I paid for my B2620, but with all those extra features. I was very surprised to see that.
Won't know much more until it shows up here in December.

That Canadian site calls the M7 "Mid Range". Can't wait to see their larger ones, they must have bigger plans. All this tells me the CUT market has commoditized and Kubota is crossing into Deere's turf. I doubt Kubota will fail, but someone may be bumped out of that market once they move in.
