All, I went to my local TSC, and several auto parts stores and can't find any SAE 90 gear oil. I just purchased an older Ber-Vac 60" snowblower and it says the gear oil needed is SAE 90. Can I use something different?

Usually you have some wiggle room for temperature variations, but your range is pretty narrow in winter.

75w-90; 80w-90 are very common & so long as theres adequate expansion room in the gearbox & mnfctr doesn't shun use, either should be fine if straight 90 is hard to find.

Thank you all for your help. Now for a followup question, how full do you fill the gearbox? I don't see a dip stick or window that shows how full it is. Attached is an image of the gearbox.

Typically you fill it up as high as the hole that the square plug threads into. Once the gear oil starts spilling out of that hole, its full.
