I think that it is a great idea to get the hoe off of the tractor. This will give you a whole new perspective of using this stuff. Keep in mind that the female QDs provided work with the sleeve being pushed or pulled for coupling. Very common to have angled fittings on the hoses for easier connections.

Brian,

I've been hesitating pulling the hoe until I had a good idea of where the valve was going. I'm not worried about the QD's and the hoe too much, although I might eventually use the motor spool valve with the hoe on to power an auger I have.

I think the valve is going to wind up where I show it in my first position. It's about as good as it gets.

Unless...

I know you've been hesitant of this, but is there anyway to put the QD's right on the valve like Kubota does? Then I could mount the parallel to the seat in a similar spot to where Kubota has those 3 slots. The QD's would have to be elbowed for the first row and maybe straight up for the 2nd row? Or maybe a long elbow?

What do you think?

How about 4 hoses for the first 2 rows (with 45s or 90s on them) and mount them someplace a little more convenient (perhaps directly below the 3rd and 4th rows)?
Can you take a picture from the back sort of like your first picture (at the beginning of the thread) but with the flip up footguard out of the way?

Aaron,

You might be on to something there! Check out the pics I posted on page 2 with the 8 QDs mocked up. If that got knocked down to 4 QDs mounted in that location (behind/below the flip up foot guard) and the other 2 mounted at the valves or somewhere else that might actually be pretty reasonable.

I could put the TNT connections (2 valves with float) down in that location as those are my most likely to be used remotes and that would put them right where the action is.

With the hoe mounted I don't think I'll be using these valves much. One of the valves is a motor spool valve. I have dreams of running that valve to feed an auger mounted to the backhoe. So that QD needs to remain accessible with the hoe on.

The 4th valve, no plans as of now...it was a "might as well".

Measure the width of the female QD and then measure the width of the control valve. Then you will see the problem. Yes you can actually do it sort of clean when you have 3 valves, you have 4, problem is greatly intensified. I suppose we could use all short and long 90s along with 45s and have the QDs in a fan pattern. If you want to do it, you are welcome to try, it's only time and money. ;)

I finally pictured what you are saying. With 3 you can put the middle ones straight out and the 2 valves can have them mounted so they point out a bit. With 4 we are stuck with the 2 in the middle always trying to use the same space.

Ok, scratching that and back to finding a spot for the remote location.

What do you think about doing a combination of the 2? 2 valves with QDs mounted up by the valve, and 2 with the QDs mounted where I have them under the floor board? Is that a reasonable location?

Whatever you think will work best for you, no I would not do that myself. Something else to consider as far as actual valve placement. In the pictures that were posted the valve and QDs are up on the ROPS. Now your tractor has 3 slots down low for control levers. Do you think that they still mount the valves up on the ROPS? I think that just like so many of their other tractors, they moved everything down and integrated into the tractor, much much cleaner. I would take another look at putting the valves down low. But that may just be me. :confused2:

I'm leaning towards this spot:

The spot they integrate the 3 control handles involves a lot of linkages and levers from what I could find and the valves themselves wind up buried under the machine. Not really feasible for an aftermarket install.

Unless I chop out that plastic and mount the valve body to that orange floor board so the handles stick up 90 degrees to the way they are in the picture, similar to the Kubota result. Then maybe route the quick disconnects up onto the ROPs?

I'm still really confused about Kubota's ACTUAL factory offering. Some of the pictures show them tattooed to the ROPs, others show them integrated to the plastic. However, what I cannot find is where the QDs wind up with the integrated into the plastic method.
