Whats the value of performing the 50hr service at 25hrs

Most of newer tractors run synthetic oils and lubes now anyway.
If newer tractor keep within manufacturers suggestions.

way overkill imho. To make you feel good jack/tilt left side up and clean/check strainer by rear wheel.

Does the Kubota B series have that strainer , I havn't seen it in the manual yet ?

If you do it at 25 hr, should be no need to do again at 50. Engine manufactures I have worked with have told me they set the first change at 50 hoping to get vast majority of customers doing it somewhere between 25 & 75 hrs.

I usually like to shorten the service of the first fluids and filters for the first change by half of the recommended amount for NEW equipment. In my mind I am getting the tooling shavings etc out of the system early. So far I have caught some pretty big stuff when I have done this and it certainly does not hurt. The downside it it raises the service costs. Anyone have input on the value in the Kubota to shorten the 50 hour window to 25 hours and then performing the 50 hour service again at 50 hours?

Personally, I would change the engine oil and filter. For the ~$25 or so it costs, I think it's worth doing - I always throw a short-duration oil change in on a new vehicle. You could also change the hydro filter if you wanted to, but I don't think that's as beneficial, but I surely wouldn't hurt for another $25 or so. I also probably would've done sooner - like at about 10 hours, then started the normal schedule from there.

I bought my 18th Kubota today, 16th new one from Barlows , a BX25. Trading in my B2620 FEL BH (for sale for $18,000) with 73 hours. Have had some experience In changes/initial servicing. Would not do it before the 50 hours and see no value in it.

I cleaned my HST screen at 25 hours. Curiosity got the best of me. There was very little to nothing in it. I agree with the rest of the posters. Go ahead and check the screen, if you must, but the full monte? Nah. No need.

BTW, yes, you can check the screen and only lose about a 1/2 pint of SUDT-2. I used a cork, but others prefer the vacuum cleaner/shop vac method. Either works just fine.

Likewise....I find NO reference to a 'strainer' in my manual. Anyone know if the b2650 has one and if yes where it is located.

He said in info a bx2370-1 which is like my bx23 which has strainer. A b series is NOT a bx series. No idea if a B has strainer/screen
