When I buy a new one, I make the appointment for the 50 hr service when I take delivery.
I get in the seat and climb off when it has 50...LOL...only a little exaggeration.
My goal is to run up that 50 very quickly, so it can be dealer evaluated promptly.
(and 'me' evaluated too. most assembly goofs will show up in that 50)
ok?, no problems?
after that I take care of the service.
I have a lot of tractors, so even though I never go past the recommended hours,
if it is lightly used, it gets full service once a year, no matter the hours.
Wide temperature extremes here. Unheated storage.
Condensation hurts ......everything
(waste of money? not when that bottom line was more $ than my house......)
edit: for the OP. On my new one this year, I had a leak and when I talked to my dealer about getting the leak and the 50 done at the same time, he advised me to get at least 40 hours on it. (the slight loader hose leak was annoying but didn't stop tractor use.....they got it in at 47 hours)
