Whats the value of performing the 50hr service at 25hrs

Peace of mind is worth something too.
Do it, it can't hurt, should help some.
Do the fifty hour as usual and then change the filters at half intervals and the oil at regular intervals.
Don't forget if you do filters, only that you need to add oil.

FYI the new B2650 has no strainer.. Just hydro and oil filter 👍

I usually like to shorten the service of the first fluids and filters for the first change by half of the recommended amount for NEW equipment. In my mind I am getting the tooling shavings etc out of the system early. So far I have caught some pretty big stuff when I have done this and it certainly does not hurt. The downside it it raises the service costs. Anyone have input on the value in the Kubota to shorten the 50 hour window to 25 hours and then performing the 50 hour service again at 50 hours?

I moved my 50 hour to 25 hrs and did the 100 hr a little early too. I tend to do that sort of thing for all new machinery. After that, I use the recommended intervals as guidelines - while realizing that the guidelines themselves are more likely opinions than fact.
There are some things I should do that I don't pay enough attention to. One example of that is changing the coolant. I don't do that nearly as often as they recommend. Never have on any machine....and never had a problem. Yet.
On things I let slide, I do try to at least check up on them. Stuff like brake adjustment, front axle slop, the radiator hose, belts, power steering hoses, or cooler lines. Sometimes I'll just spend an hour going over stuff.
If you favor initial maintenance, what do you think about checking the valve clearance? The first check is coming up on the M59 at 600 hours - actually it's now at about 650 but will probably put it off until warmer weather. So that will be somewhere in the 700 hr range.
Sure wish that Kubota had put a compression release on this tractor - or some way to crank it over without it starting. That would be nice for pre-lube in cold weather too.
Good luck with your new machine.

I am an early drain guy. There are wear metals in there that I like to get out. Attached is used oil analysis from 2 of my tractors with early dump. I also believe Kubota ships these engines with 10w-30, and I want my 5w-40 in crankcase as soon as possible. This is an ivestment I want to keep running a long time. A little money now for piece of mind later makes me sleep better ;) Philip.

Im going to go for it at 25 hours - full 50 hour maintenace. What should I collect to perform a full analysis. Im thinking we could get the definitive answer. I will pay the bill so we know what to tell the new owners on this question. I assume I should collect a sample of the oil coming out for each type and probably open the filter up for an examination.

Waste of time and money to do it early, unless you notice a problem in which case you should be calling for warranty work.

If you have the equipment, your could drain and filter the fluids and put them back in the tractor, top them off with fresh; and that would save you money on hydraulic and engine oil; since at 25 hrs they're both practically new.

congrats AGAIN john;)
You cant beat our bx25's! One thing i wouldnt do this time is lay it on its side for the 50hour:)))

Thanks. Not going to do the on the side change any more. It made the job easier but was pretty scary as it went over with me still in the seat. If I did do it again I'd want to get off and just push it over or lower the front bucket like I did but feet on the ground.
When I see these early change posts I always wonder why people pick the number they do. If one is going to do it early, then why not at 5 hours or even 2 hours or maybe 10 hours or 15 hours or 18 hours. If one is being extra careful then why 25 hours?
I think I'll change my new BX25 after 5 hours and sleep better........well, I've actually been sleeping pretty good following factory recommendations but I'm sure not going to ever let my new cars and trucks go over 500 miles, well I did let one go 623 miles and like to never have went to sleep. Full synthetic oil and all filters especially the air filters at 500 (five hundred) miles. Believe my new cars and truck will last forever now, well I'm 67 so maybe they won't have to last forever, just till I'm done with them.:D:laughing::rolleyes: To each his own, it's his or her money.:cool2:
Oops, it just dawned on me, I never change anything on my new tractors, I just trade them off before the 50 hours but at 25 hours or 15 hours even I would have to do changes.:D

When I bought my first new tractor in 2010 I changed the engine oil and filter at 22 hours. It just looked like it needed it. Since then the drained oil has looked cleaner after 50 hrs than it did that first time. Was it a waste? No, because I'm happy that I did it.

I plan to do the same with my BX2370-1. Your thread caught my attention because it's pushing 20 hours and I'm already thinking about it. Please post any results you get from analysis, I'll be interested.
