To jump in, this is my mule deer from just a few weeks ago, and my elk from just over a week ago, up here in central Washington state.

6.5 Grendel, 16" carbine, custom loaded 120gr Nosler ballistic tip at 393 yards.

Same rifle and ranged him at 496 just before letting one fly. Without getting drawn for special permits, this GMU is true spike only, and this guy was small. But I am not complaining.

Notice the arrow shaft in his face? Saw it when I walked up on him, you can feel the broad head in there. Poor guy.

Dang, you have to hope that whoever was on the other end of that arrow wasn't going for an intentional head shot. But then again, that's a long way from the vitals.

Either way, some nice looking mulies there Moses... congrats!

Google European skull mounts.My son in law does this to his deer. Looks decent.

I use a turkey fryer and big pot. Boil the skull and after it's cooked a while the meat will be easy to scrape off (don't let the antlers get into the water). The sinuses and brain are the hardest but you can do it if you take your time. After the meat is all off, wash with hot water and dish detergent to get rid of grease, then let dry. I bleached my deer skull above with a paint brush and normal chlorine bleach, but I know someone that soaked his skull (again keep the antlers above water) overnight in a strong mix of water and Oxyclean and he said his turned nice and white.

Excellent, I'll give this a shot. I just read that peroxide works well to keep it white an not get any yellowing.

He was at 25yrds quartered away hard.. caught him right behind the last rib and into the opposite shoulder. He went about 50yrds and pilled up.
