And did you bother to tally up all the school shootings in the past 85 years? It's been a good week so far with none. i believe the last was two weeks ago.

You're an excitable guy aren't you? Read your note. A million deaths a day eh? That's quite the risk. I presume you did the math. No USA by November. Great use the 2nd amendment will be then.

You are a bonafide gun fanatic. You are religious in your attitude towards guns and the second amendment. Very difficult to argue logically with someone about religion. I'll try anyways.

Not a "gun" fanatic at all. I am a "force the government to live within the limits of the US Constitution" fanatic. The government is out of control and, quite frankly, doing many many things in clear violation of the Constitution. This should show you that even our government will struggle against the restraints of the law in an endless quest for power. The list of criminal acts by the current administration should rightfully have dozens of them behind bars for the rest of their lives. Yes, there have certainly been others but this administration is completely unashamed and openly violates the law without repercussion. The point being - you cannot depend upon politicians of either party to constrain federal power ... This makes ALL OF YOUR RIGHTS precious and worth defending at all costs.

Back to firearms ... certainly there are instances wherein one can surrender his/her rights - as in the commission of a crime. I suggest to you - if we actually took criminals off the streets (and kept them off the streets) the numbers you like to cite would be somewhat smaller.

As for the role of the NRA, perhaps you know little of the history. Did you realize the NRA led the push to get firearms into Britain at the start of WWII? IGNORANTLY, they had pretty much disarmed themselves and were sitting ducks. Through the efforts of the NRA, thousands of firearms were sent over. The NRA has trained more than 10,000 NRA-certified police and security firearms instructors. For civilians, the NRA has 50,000 certified trainers that train over 750,000 people per year. The NRA has taught over 21 millions kids from pre-kindergarten to sixth grade - "STOP. DON'T TOUCH. LEAVE THE AREA. TELL AN ADULT." The NRA has approximately 5 million members of which I am just one. I consider my membership one of the most important decisions of my life. Further, I believe EVERYONE who loves our country, whether they ever plan to own a firearm or not, should join the NRA today.

You most definitely CAN make an impact through legislation!

None of those school shooters had conceal carry permits, which is what this thread is about.

What legislation would you pass to remedy those school shootings? Let's hear it.

I vote to let the good doc gives up any and all of his creator given rights that he wants, but those of us that still respect such rights get to keep all of ours that we want!

IT has said many times that he supports that we all keep our rights to our guns. He has been very clear on that. We as responsible gun owners need to help figure how we can keep our rights and prevent needless death. It is a tough one.
