I agree, a good idea but not needed. If you are worried about it, run a full synthetic diesel oil, flows much better during start up.
OK Fellas, I get it. Its a boneheaded idea...:thumbdown:
I don't think it's boneheaded. But perhaps a better idea is to install a bypass filter.

Not using a block heater and synthetic oil in the winter will cause more wear than what a pre-oiler will save.
