I really enjoy having intelligent discussions with people who have an opinion that differs from mine. I like to try to understand why they believe what they do. Unfortunately, it (the intelligent discussion) seldom happens.![]()

Never try wrestle with a pig. They like it and are more experienced at it.
The beliefs of many people are based on emotions. It is very hard to change feelings by using facts. That may just strengthen the feeling by having to defend it. It would take a stronger emotion to change it.
We have likely all heard the stories of the gun owner who sells all after an accident, or an anti-gunner who buys one after a mugging.

You can't reason with someone who didn't use reason to get where they are in the first place. All antigunners have is emotion. No reason or facts or reality are ever going to change that. Well, unless they get mugged, raped or killed - then maybe.
